Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the procurement of transportation services, logistics and other services required for the shipments.
- Negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms and conditions.
- Conduct regular market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring cost-effective and reliable partnerships.
- Ensure timely delivery of quotation and services, adhering to budget and schedule constraints.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and manage service levels to ensure quotation efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain qualified service.
- Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for procurement.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Continuously assess and improve internal processes to enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Support the Manager in achieving departmental and company goals.
Expected Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or a related operations role, preferably in the transportation or forwarding industry.
- Experience in sourcing shipping lines, customs, trucking and other services
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and resolve issues promptly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software/systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
