Job summary
The Delivery Director is responsible for leading the Engineering Services delivery organization, ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational efficiency, and business growth.
This role requires a strong leader with proven experience in software testing and quality assurance services, project delivery management, pre-sales engagement, and P&L management. The Delivery Director will oversee large-scale engineering teams, drive delivery excellence, support business development initiatives, and ensure long-term client success..
1. Delivery Leadership
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end delivery of engineering services, including Software Testing, QA, Test Automation, and Software Development projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality standards.
- Be hands-on when necessary and able to participate in automation testing activities together with engineering teams during critical situations or resource constraints.
- Act as the highest escalation point for delivery issues, ensuring quick resolution and minimal impact on clients.
- Establish and implement delivery governance, risk management, and performance tracking frameworks.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, tools, and engineering practices.
2. Organization Development
- Mentor, and develop Engineering Managers, Delivery Managers, and Senior Project Managers.
- Establish strong leadership pipelines and succession planning.
- Work closely with HR to implement retention strategies and maintain a strong engineering culture.
3. Pre-Sales & Business Growth
- Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams in pre-sales activities, including:
- Technical consulting
- Solution design
- Effort estimation
- Proposal preparation
- Participate in client presentations, negotiations, and solution workshops.
- Contribute to new service offerings and capability development aligned with market demands.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing client accounts.
4. P&L
- Take ownership of delivery financial performance, including:
- Project profitability
- Cost control
- Resource utilization
- Manage P&L for the Engineering Services organization.
- Monitor delivery KPIs such as margin, utilization rate, project health, and customer satisfaction.
5. Quality & Process
- Implement and promote best practices in software testing, automation frameworks, and engineering delivery.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, security standards, and customer requirements.
- Lead initiatives to improve engineering productivity, delivery efficiency, and service quality.
6. Client Management
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients and executive stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor for clients on engineering and quality assurance solutions.
- Lead client visits, delivery reviews, and executive-level discussions.
- Conduct post-project reviews and implement improvement actions based on client feedback.
Requirements
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Software Development, Testing, or IT Services
- Experienced in delivering projects to Vietnamese and global clients.
Technical & Business Expertise
- Strong background in Software Testing, QA, Test Automation, or Software Development
- Deep understanding of software delivery lifecycle and project management methodologies
- Experience working in IT outsourcing / offshore development services
- Proven experience supporting pre-sales and solution consulting
- Strong P&L management and financial accountability
