About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Platform Operations Engineer to take full ownership of production stability and system reliability across our platform. This is a hands-on senior specialist role, not a people manager and not a feature development position. You will be the go-to person when production is under pressure diagnosing issues, leading recovery, and strengthening system reliability over time.

What you will do:
- Own production operations, monitoring, and system health
- Proactively detect issues before they escalate into incidents
- Act as primary owner during production incidents and lead recovery end-to-end
- Troubleshoot service outages, performance degradation, background jobs, and event pipelines
- Execute production restart or rollback (aligned with Head of Product)
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive long-term reliability improvements
- Build and maintain runbooks, incident workflows, and operational standards
- Continuously improve system observability, stability, and predictability
- Collaborate closely with Backend, Infrastructure, and Product teams as the trusted point of contact for platform reliability
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years operating production backend / platform systems
- Strong hands-on experience with distributed & microservices architectures
- Proven ability to handle high-impact production incidents
- Experience with event-driven / asynchronous systems
- Excellent troubleshooting & debugging skills; able to read backend code (.NET is a plus)
- Cloud experience (Azure preferred) and familiarity with monitoring, logging & alerting
- Hands-on with background jobs and message queues
- Strong ownership, calm under pressure, execution-driven, and able to work independently on complex operational challenges.
Working model & authority:
- Full-time, individual contributor role
- Authorized to restart or rollback production systems (with discussion and agreement with the Head of Product)
- No people management responsibilities
