About The Role
As a member of the Platform & Infrastructure Engineering department, you will build and own the paved road that lets every Katalon engineer ship safely and fast on our
cloud-native, high-scale, and containerized platform. As a
Senior Platform Engineer you treat the platform as a product whose customers are both our developers and customers. You own core platform domains end-to-end: infrastructure-as-code, cloud architecture, the internal developer platform, reliability, security guardrails, and cloud cost. And you
raise the bar for how the whole engineering organization builds and operates software.
Core Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Enterprise Transformation
- Enable the AI platform. Provide self-service, well-instrumented patterns so product teams can adopt generative AI safely, with observability and cost controls built in.
- Own platform domains end to end and set the standards other teams adopt. Author design docs, drive complex cross-team technical decisions, and work autonomously against multi-quarter goals.
- Build the internal developer platform and its golden paths. Ship self-service templates and paved-road workflows that cover the common cases, resist misuse, and cut developer cognitive load. Treat it as a product: measure adoption and iterate.
- Mentor and level up the team. Coach engineers growing toward senior scope, and raise the technical bar by example.
Hands-on Engineering & Architecture
- Own infrastructure-as-code as a governed product: a versioned, multi-tier, and well-tested module library with clear ownership, change control, and automated quality gates.
- Design and operate the cloud platform. Multi-account governance, cloud-native networking, container orchestration and autoscaling, and managed data and streaming services. Set architecture standards and review designs across teams.
- Make reliability and observability the default. Wire SLOs/SLAs, dashboards, alerting, and tracing into the golden path; lead incident response and root-cause analysis; and build guardrails rather than gates.
- Shift security left into the platform. Policy-as-code, least-privilege access, secrets management, and secure-by-default templates across the estate.
- Shift-Left FinOps. Balancing commitment management and cost allocation with engineering-led spend accountability.
Experience
Job Requirements
- Roughly 6 to 8 years in platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering, including senior-level ownership of a platform domain.
Technical Expertise
- Deep Terraform experience (module authorship, not just consumption); Terragrunt a strong plus.
- In-depth, production Kubernetes/EKS experience.
- Strong AWS across compute, networking, IAM, and managed data services; multi-account/Organizations experience.
- CI/CD pipeline design (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / ArgoCD) and GitOps.
- Real proficiency in Python, Rust, and/or Go (tooling authorship, not only scripting).
- Observability (Prometheus / Grafana / CloudWatch or equivalent) and a track record in incident response / on-call.

- Platform-as-a-product / IDP experience (Backstage / Port / Cortex, golden paths, DevEx measurement).
- Builds abstractions and frameworks, not just wiring tools.
- Policy-as-code (OPA / Kyverno / Sentinel) and IaC security scanning in CI.
- FinOps depth (Savings Plans / Reserved Instances, unit economics, Zesty / Cloudability / CloudZero-class tooling).
- AI-platform / Bedrock operational experience (inference cost, guardrails, model-invocation logging).
- Effectively using AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows.
- Certifications (signals, not required as mandatory): AWS Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer Professional, CKA/CKAD, HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
