1. ROLE
This position plays a strategic leadership role for Event, Activation, and Integrated Marketing Campaign projects. The Senior Strategic Planning Manager is responsible for developing insights, setting strategic directions, and ensuring proposals are logical, creative, and effective for clients.
Acting as a bridge between Project Leads, internal departments, and external partners, this role ensures smooth project execution in alignment with timelines. The position also involves monitoring, reporting performance and risks to the Board of Directors, and supporting project planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Strategic Leadership
- Analyze client briefs and clearly define:
- Business objectives
- Communication objectives
- Conduct research on:
- Market, industry, and competitors
- Consumer behavior and cultural trends
- Develop deep, actionable consumer insights
- Build:
- Communication strategy (key messages, approach)
- Strategic framework for proposals
- Lead Big Idea development & Creative Direction in collaboration with the Creative team
2.2 Proposal Development & Pitching
- Lead the entire proposal development process:
- Structure proposals logically: Problem → Insight → Idea → Execution → KPI
- Directly write proposal content
- Collaborate with:
- Creative team: idea development
- Production/Operation: feasibility assurance
- Account team: alignment with client brief and expectations
- Participate in pitching:
- Present proposals to clients
- Explain strategic logic and defend ideas
2.3 Project Execution & Management
- Participate in project execution post-award, translating strategy into actionable plans
- Develop:
- Detailed concepts
- Program scripts
- Key experiences
- Collaborate with Account/BOD in pricing negotiations
- Control:
- Timeline
- Output quality
- Budget
- Risks during execution
2.4 Planning Team Management & Development
- Manage Planning team (Junior/Senior):
- Assign tasks based on capabilities
- Review and improve output quality
- Training & mentoring:
- Strategic thinking
- Insight development
- Proposal writing & storytelling
- Build:
- Workflow processes
- Standardized planning templates & frameworks
2.5 Internal Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the strategic focal point between:
- Account – Creative – Production – Operation
- Ensure all stakeholders understand the strategic direction
- Work with vendors/partners to ensure execution aligns with the concept
- Resolve conflicts or misalignments between teams
2.6 Innovation & Trends
- Stay updated on trends in:
- Event, Activation, Experiential Marketing
- Gen Z & Gen Alpha behaviors
- Apply new technologies:
- AI, interactive, immersive experiences
- Proactively propose new formats, ideas, and creative solutions to keep the agency innovative and competitive
3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Strategic Planning / Creative Planning / Brand Strategy
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial role
- Experience in Event/Activation agencies is a strong advantage
