EmbedIT is the Vietnamese engineering arm of a Czech fintech group (PPF Group), building and operating systems for financial services, data platforms, mobile applications, and core banking.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Oracle Database Administrator to maintain operation, troubleshooting, automation, and continuous improvement of enterprise Oracle database platforms. In this role you will work on company's wide solution from architecture System's perspective, disaster recovery concepts, strong overlap to other technologies. You will act as a senior technical authority, mentor less experienced DBAs, and cooperate closely with system administrators, application teams, security teams, and customer IT teams. We expect your end-to-end responsibility, including participation on 24/7 on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the full lifecycle of Oracle 19c databases (RAC, RAC One Node, standalone, ASM) across production, pre-production, and DR environments.
- Design, validate, and execute HA/DR using Data Guard, DGMGRL, RMAN, switchover and restore scenarios, and recovery readiness testing.
- Investigate complex database, SQL, and application performance issues using AWR/ASH, execution plans, OEM/ADRCI, and Grafana, and drive permanent fixes.
- Build and maintain automation for DB creation, patching, refreshes, and recurring operational tasks with Bash, Python, Ansible/AWX, and Git.
- Support secure operations and privileged access (IDM, CyberArk/PAM, HashiCorp Vault), patching, and auditability.
- Mentor less experienced DBAs and lead technical discussions across teams.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for end-to-end platform ownership.
Your Experience and Skills
- 5+ years of professional Oracle DBA experience in large-scale enterprise or financial environments.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, patching, upgrades, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB): administration, cloning, refreshes, and migration scenarios.
- Ability to design database architecture solutions, DR concepts, standby layouts, and operational standards.
- Strong practical knowledge of Linux/RHEL database hosting: shell tools, filesystem/storage, networking basics, and service-level diagnostics.
- Bash scripting and practical automation experience, with working knowledge of ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management.
- Fluent English (C1 or strong B2+) for daily vendor and stakeholder communication.
- Nice to have: OCP 2019+ or OCE in RAC/Data Guard, Ansible/Git/Kubernetes or cloud experience, Windows Server exposure, and ITIL certification.
