GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Senior Merchandiser manages category-level merchandising from tech pack handoff through buy release & production. Own sample execution, critical path tracking, cost validation, and vendor communication to achieve on-time buy ready and quality
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Download and review tech packs/BOM; clarify requirements with design & suppliers
- Consolidate & release sample POs; track proto/ fit/ size set/ SMS delivery; track approval progress
- Manage counter costing; validate cost breakdowns; update systems & negotiate to target
- Track lab dips/ strike-offs and fit approvals; flag delays and secure actions
- Maintain WIP and buy readiness status; ensure timely line lock & system accuracy
- Coordinate factory visits for sample reviews & production risk assessments
- Collaborate with Planning, Quality & Material to resolve issues and secure on-time delivery & quality KPIs
- Publish weekly progress reports & risk logs for leadership review
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction and manufacturability
- Strong materials and trims knowledge, including testing basics
- Costing literacy and negotiation skills
- Systems: PLM (e.g. Centric), SAP, ERP; strong MS Excel & PowerPoint
- Time sensitive & able to work under dynamic environment
- Clear written and verbal communication in English
