Position Summary: As the Senior Manager, Surety of Supply & Manufacturing Excellence (General Merchandise), you are a strategic architect of Walmart's global supply network. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, you will drive sourcing capability, risk management, and Lean-driven manufacturing practices across our supplier ecosystem. Reporting to the Director, Sourcing Capability Development, this role serves as a critical driver of business continuity and growth, ensuring our global manufacturing network is resilient, high-performing, and capable of delivering sustainable value and Every Day Low-Cost benefits to our customers.

About The Team

The Sourcing Capability Development team partners cross-functionally with Global Merchants, Product Developers, Compliance, and an expansive global network of manufacturing partners. The team focuses on scaling end-to-end supply chain strategies, establishing robust quality governance frameworks, and driving operational efficiency across the Fashion and General Merchandise portfolio. By prioritizing trusted supplier relationships, advanced data analytics, and an Every Day Low-Cost mindset, the team builds a highly resilient, agile manufacturing ecosystem that champions private brand safety, innovation, and exceptional value for millions of customers.

About The Role

This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic operational leader who excels at supply assurance, manufacturing excellence, and capability development. You will move beyond conventional sourcing to lead end-to-end risk mitigation, Lean manufacturing deployment, and supplier capability building. Navigating a complex, global environment, you will combine data-driven insights with strong stakeholder influence to optimize factory performance, close operational gaps, and present executive-level recommendations that elevate Walmart's global sourcing base.

What You'll Do

• Drive Surety of Supply Strategies: Design and execute robust supply assurance frameworks—including multi-sourcing strategies, continuity plans, and scenario planning—to proactively mitigate risks and safeguard product availability.
• Establish Early Warning & Crisis Governance: Build and govern real-time monitoring mechanisms (e.g., supplier health dashboards, risk signals) to detect vulnerabilities early and lead rapid crisis containment during supply disruptions.
• Advance Manufacturing Excellence: Deploy Lean, Six Sigma, automation, and smart factory initiatives across supplier facilities to increase productivity, improve yields, and drive continuous cost optimization.
• Audit & Elevate Supplier Performance: Assess factory quality, capacity, and operational maturity; establish standard SOPs, audit systems, performance KPIs, and targeted roadmaps to bridge operational gaps.
• Enable Supplier Ecosystem Readiness: Deliver structured coaching, training, and on-site enablement—including targeted MSME development—to build long-term operational maturity across the supply base.
• Champion Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner seamlessly with cross-functional category, sourcing, quality, and compliance teams to embed risk management and operational standards into core sourcing decisions.
• Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams: Coach, mentor, and inspire a multi-region sourcing organization, fostering an inclusive, high-accountability culture while building succession readiness for future growth.

What You'll Bring

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related technical field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred).
• Professional Experience: 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in sourcing, supplier development, manufacturing, or supply chain operations, including 5+ years of direct experience leading global or multi-region teams.
• Technical Authority: Deep expertise in supply continuity planning, risk mitigation, and Lean/Six Sigma frameworks, with proven experience deploying smart factory initiatives across global sourcing markets (experience across South Asia, SEA, and the Americas preferred).
• Analytical Fluency: Strong ability to synthesize complex manufacturing metrics, factory capacity data, and macro supply risks into actionable strategies and executive-level recommendations.
• Strategic Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of navigating complex stakeholder environments and influencing cross-functional decisions across global sourcing, compliance, and quality teams.
• Operational & Ecosystem Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing multi-stream programs, scaling supplier enablement initiatives (including MSME development), and fostering a high-performance, transformation-oriented culture.
