Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

About The Team

Walmart's success is built on delivering exceptional value to our customers through high-quality private brand goods. To achieve this, our dynamic and impactful Sourcing team is focused on identifying and scaling supply sources that provide superior products, competitive costs, and dependable delivery. We are in a pivotal growth phase, striving to become Walmart's most trusted and resilient sourcing network by implementing advanced strategic frameworks, streamlining operational structures, and cultivating high-trust environments where collaboration thrives and decisions are accelerated. We are deeply aligned across the enterprise and singularly focused on customer-centricity.

About The Role

This is a leadership role with strategic oversight of Walmart's global Fashion sourcing portfolio, specializing in Intimates & Sleepwear (including bras, shapewear, loungewear, sleepwear, and foundational layers). You will act as the key architect of our global supplier matrix—driving high-stakes negotiations, material and upstream supply chain innovations, capacity resilience, and end-to-end commercial performance across major international markets. You will lead a high-performing team and partner directly with executive stakeholders to align retail strategies with resilient manufacturing execution.

What You'll Do

1. Sourcing Strategy & Portfolio Optimization

  • Strategic Category Roadmaps: Architect, direct, and execute multi-year Private Brand sourcing strategies for the Intimates & Sleep categories to maximize Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), expand operating margins, and drive market share in support of Walmart's Everyday Low Price (EDLP) framework.
  • Global Supplier Matrix Architecture: Design and govern a diversified, compliant, and cost-efficient global supplier matrix, strategically balancing geographic diversification, tariff advantages, speed-to-market, and technical capability.
  • Upstream & Material Integration: Partner with upstream mills, fiber innovators, and component suppliers (e.g., technical fabrics, elastics, laces, trims, molded cups) to secure supply integrity, price leverage, and sustainable material access.

2. Cost Leadership & Commercial Negotiation

  • Should-Be Cost Engineering: Leverage deep teardown knowledge of raw material costs, labor rates, yield efficiencies, and garment construction to establish enterprise should-be costing baselines.
  • High-Stakes Negotiations & Tendering: Direct complex enterprise-level RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes; lead high-impact cost negotiations with strategic manufacturing partners to consistently exceed margin and efficiency targets.
  • Trade & Macro Risk Mitigation: Synthesize global trade developments, tariff policies, FX movements, and geopolitical shifts into robust long-term mitigation plans and strategic sourcing shifts.

3. Technical Execution, Quality & Product Flow

  • End-to-End Product Lifecycle: Partner seamlessly with Merchandising, Design, Product Development, and Technical Quality teams to accelerate the product lifecycle from initial fit and fabric approval to production and delivery.
  • Capacity Governance & On-Time Performance: Provide operational oversight of factory capacity allocations, peak-season load planning, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure exceptional On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery metrics.
  • Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance: Partner closely with Merchandise Quality Engineers to enforce strict product safety, fit consistency, durability standards, and social/environmental compliance across all manufacturing partners.

4. Digital Innovation, Analytics & Team Leadership

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Direct the analysis of large-scale cost, capacity, and market intelligence datasets using advanced analytics and digital tools to deliver actionable, high-impact business proposals.
  • Continuous Process Transformation: Champion digitization, process automation, and lean sourcing methodologies to streamline workflows, enhance supply chain agility, and reduce lead times.
  • People Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and build the capabilities of a diverse, high-performing sourcing team; foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and strategic leadership.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Supply Chain, Fashion/Textile Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline (MBA or Master's degree strongly preferred).
  • Executive Sourcing Experience: 12–15+ years of progressive sourcing, merchandising, or procurement leadership experience within major international retail, global buying offices, or tier-1 garment manufacturing environments.
  • Category Expertise (Intimates & Sleep): Deep technical subject-matter expertise in the Intimates, Sleepwear, or Foundations sub-categories (understanding complex technical fit, pattern grading, fabric stretch recovery, molding technologies, bonding/seamless construction, and raw material sourcing).
  • Global Market Acumen: Extensive experience supporting major international markets (U.S., Latin America, and/or emerging markets), with in-depth knowledge of cross-border trade agreements, duty optimizations, and regional compliance frameworks.
  • Commercial & P&L Mastery: Proven track record of managing multi-million/billion-dollar sourcing portfolios, with demonstrated command over open-costing breakdowns, macro commodity tracking (cotton, synthetic yarns), and margin optimization.
  • Strategic Influence & C-Suite Communication: Executive-level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; demonstrated ability to influence senior cross-functional executives and drive alignment across global merchandising teams.
  • Transformational People Leadership: Proven success in coaching, developing, and leading high-performing, culturally diverse teams in fast-paced, high-matrix global organizations.
