Job Description
Reporting to the Head, Commercial, you will be responsible to establish networks and strong network and long-term relationships with Japanese prospects, business partners and agencies across Japan, Vietnam and selected ASEAN countries, with a primary focus on Vietnam as the key investment destination. The core objective of this role is to secure companies to lease industrial spaces and lands within Sembcorp, VSIP and other assigned projects. This position is based in Vietnam and requires frequent travel.
Responsibilities
Marketing strategy
- Understand the Japan+1 and ASEAN+1 frameworks, including key decision drivers influencing Japanese and regional companies seeking production, logistics, or warehousing facilities in Vietnam, with comparative insights into other ASEAN locations
- Be among the first to identify Japanese and ASEAN companies considering entry or expansion into Vietnam through established networks, market intelligence, and industry channels.
- Segment, target, build a robust pipeline of prospects, executing effective outreach strategies to generate interest and secure lease commitments.
- Leverage on agencies and value-add partners (banks, trade bodies, business services) to generate leads, referrals and support in making the marketing drive creditable and effective.
- Organize through partnership/collaboration with like-minded business partners, project-focused investment events, roadshows and forums to create interest and awareness for Sembcorp, VSIP and other assigned projects with the prime objective of generating marketing leads for subsequent cultivation and realization.
Marketing tactics
- Conduct frequent hosting of site visits to various parts of Vietnam to gauge the level of seriousness in clients after first business interaction and increase the chance of a deal-closure.
- Presenting at marketing-related roadshows, forums and events in Japan, Vietnam, and selected ASEAN countries to raise awareness and generate interest in Sembcorp, VSIP and assigned projects to target audience. Final objective is to convert awareness to leads for cultivation.
- Meet a minimum of 20 qualified clients per month to populate the prospects base and raise the possibility of deals closure. ( prospects base is at least 5-10x larger than the clients met )
Planning & budgeting
- Comply with pre-set budgets, spending limits and declarations.
Requirements
- Accredited Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Studies or Real Estate.
- Effectively bilingual English and native Japanese
- Effective communication skills presenting, writing and communicating.
- Hard-working and KPI-driven.
- Agree to weekly traveling to project sites to host visits; some of which will involve overnight stay and long-distance traveling by air and land (car).
- Knowledgeable of PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Word.
- Incumbents with 5-10 years of supply chain experience or client network. Industrial Parks and/or agencies especially in leasing factories and/or warehouses will be highly advantageous. ( Track record will be validated ).
