Location: Ho Chi Minh City / Hybrid (with a +/- 3H time zone difference with Ho Chi Minh City)

Job Overview

• As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at SIMCEL, you will be a key technical leader driving the design, development, and deployment of our most advanced AI and data capabilities. You will own high-impact projects end-to-end from concept and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring and play a crucial role in embedding AI deeply into our platforms decision-making engine.
• You will also collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Domain Experts to ensure our models are accurate, scalable, explainable, and truly impactful for enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

1 - Machine Learning / Data Science (60%)

Lead the design, training, and deployment of advanced ML models in areas including:

• Time series forecasting.
• Scenario simulation.
• Operations research, computational optimization, AI for complex systems, and network science.
• LLM/NLP applications (e.g., generative planning assistants, semantic search, automated reporting).
• Own the full ML lifecycle: data prep, model design, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
• Architect highly scalable and production-ready ML pipelines that can handle large-scale enterprise datasets.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, incorporating emerging ML/AI techniques into SIMCELs product roadmap.

2 - Data Engineering / Analytics (30%)

• Design and maintain robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines to support ML and analytics.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of ML outputs into the platforms decision-making workflows.
• Establish data quality and validation frameworks to ensure consistent and reliable insights for customers.

3 - Leadership & Collaboration (10%)

• Partner closely with Product Management to translate business requirements into robust and impactful ML solutions.
• Collaborate deeply with backend/frontend developers, data engineers, and DevOps to ensure seamless integration of models into production systems, optimal performance, and maintainability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions across the platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with long-term product strategy.
• Mentor and coach junior ML engineers, interns, and other technical team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Tech Stack

• Data/AI: Primarily Python (Pandas, Polars, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn), plus modern.
• ML/AI tools for time series forecasting, optimization, and NLP/LLMs.
• Product: Angular, NodeJS (NestJS), TypeScript, Golang, Python, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Bitbucket Pipelines.

Requirements

1 - Essential:

• 4+ years of experience in applied Machine Learning / Data Science, ideally in SaaS or enterprise software.
• Proven track record of deploying production-grade ML models at scale.
• Deep expertise in at least one of: Time series forecasting; Mathematical optimization (linear/nonlinear, combinatorial); NLP/LLM development and deployment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and data manipulation libraries (Pandas, Polars, NumPy, etc.), plus experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
• Proficiency in SQL and working with large relational and non-relational datasets.
• Solid understanding of MLOps practices, including Docker, CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, and cloud deployment (AWS & GCP preferred).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, business acumen, and the ability to balance technical innovation with customer impact.
• Experience live deployment of Huggingface, Ollama, LM Studio.

2 - Nice to Have:

• Background in supply chain, finance, or operations research.
• Familiarity with optimization solvers (e.g., Gurobi, OR-Tools, CPLEX).
• Experience working in early-stage startups or fast-paced, high-growth environments.
