As a Senior Linux Systems Administrator, you will be a key driver of infrastructure reliability, automation, and platform modernizations.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Linux Systems Administrator to lead the architecture, automation, and continuous improvement of our enterprise Linux infrastructure, specializing in Oracle Linux and Red Hat ecosystems. In this role, you will design high-availability layouts, drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) initiatives, manage complex database-hosting OS environments, and act as a senior technical authority. You will mentor mid-level administrators and collaborate closely with DevSecOps, database administrators, and security teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise large-scale Oracle Linux (8/9/10) and RHEL environments, including disaster recovery and high-availability clustering with Pacemaker/Corosync.
- Lead Infrastructure-as-Code and automation across the estate using Ansible, Ansible AWX, and Terraform, managing configuration drift and automated patching pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and performance-tune at the OS and kernel layer (UEK, sysctl, LVM, multipathing) for high-load Oracle Databases and financial applications.
- Establish and enforce security hardening baselines (CIS, DISA STIG) and manage privileged access with CyberArk PAM and HashiCorp Vault.
- Provide Level 3 escalation support and lead infrastructure migration projects.
- Mentor mid-level and junior administrators and collaborate closely with DevSecOps, database, and security teams.
Your Experience and Skills
- 6+ years in Linux systems engineering within large-scale enterprise environments, with deep RHEL and Oracle Linux expertise.
- Mastery of Red Hat-like OS architecture, kernel parameter tuning, and advanced storage (multipathing, LVM, SAN/NAS over Fibre Channel and iSCSI).
- Strong high-availability clustering experience (Pacemaker/Corosync).
- Strong Ansible expertise (complex multi-environment roles and collections) and infrastructure provisioning with Terraform.
- Fluent English (C1 or higher), with a track record of mentoring and clear technical communication with stakeholders.
Nice To Have:
- Experience in fintech, e-commerce, or other high-transaction environments, including Oracle Database hosting and Oracle RAC storage.
- Custom Ansible module development or scripting in Python or Go, and DevOps/GitOps and agile workflows.
- Certifications such as RHCE, RHCA, Oracle Certified Expert (Oracle Linux), or AWS SysOps / Azure Administrator.
