Our client is a Vietnam-based international law firm comprising a strong team of foreign and locally qualified lawyers and tax advisors, advising on foreign direct investment, cross-border corporate and commercial transactions, regulatory and compliance matters, and dispute resolution.

Job Description

Key Professional Expertise

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in advising clients on complex foreign investment matters in Vietnam, particularly in:

  • Vietnamese Corporate Law (Enterprise Law and Investment Regulations)
  • Regulatory and Compliance matters affecting foreign-invested enterprises

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality legal advisory services to international and foreign-invested clients.
  • Advise clients on all legal matters relevant to foreign-invested entities and their operations in Vietnam.
  • Liaise with relevant governmental authorities on licensing, regulatory approvals, and troubleshooting matters.
  • Communicate with clients, counterparties, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Independently manage legal (and tax-related) projects.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor junior to mid-level lawyers and tax advisors.
  • Review and control the quality of legal advice and work products delivered by the team.
  • Train junior lawyers in both practical and theoretical aspects of advisory and transactional work.
  • Perform additional legal and management tasks as required by firm leadership.
  • Represent the firm in the market and contribute to business development and client acquisition initiatives.

The Successful Applicant


Candidate Requirements

A Vietnamese-qualified senior lawyer with 12-15 years of post-qualification experience, preferably gained in an international or cross-border legal environment. Prior experience with an international law firm is highly desirable.

Mandatory qualifications include:

  • Degree from a reputable Vietnamese university.
  • Admission to the Vietnam Bar (additional foreign bar admission is an advantage).
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex cross-border legal matters.
  • Excellent written and spoken Vietnamese and English (additional language skills are an asset).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in international and multicultural teams.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and client-focus.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to make a long-term commitment to the firm and its clients.

  • PPP and infrastructure law
  • Environmental law
