Job Description

I.       JOB BRIEF:

The IFRS Senior is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of IFRS reporting within the Company, including IFRS conversion, preparation of IFRS financial statements, accounting policy assessment, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure compliance with IFRS requirements.

III.   DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION:

1.     IFRS Reporting & Financial Statements:

·      Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS financial statements and disclosures.

·      Perform IFRS conversion adjustments from VAS/local GAAP to IFRS.

·      Maintain IFRS reporting packages, schedules, and supporting working papers.

·      Review account balances and ensure compliance with applicable IFRS standards.

·      Support group reporting requirements and consolidation under IFRS.

2.     IFRS Conversion & Implementation:

·      Participate in IFRS implementation and transition projects.

·      Analyze accounting gaps between VAS and IFRS and propose appropriate treatments.

·      Assist in drafting IFRS accounting policies and accounting manuals.

·      Coordinate with business teams to collect data required for IFRS adjustments.

·      Support system/process enhancement for IFRS reporting requirements.

3.     Technical Accounting Support:

·      Research and interpret IFRS standards and accounting treatments.

·      Provide technical accounting guidance to finance and operational teams.

·      Prepare accounting memos and technical position papers for complex transactions.

·      Monitor changes in IFRS standards and assess business impacts

4.     Audit & Compliance:

·      Liaise with external auditors regarding IFRS reporting matters.

·      Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents for IFRS audits.

·      Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate governance requirements.

·      Support internal and external reviews related to financial reporting.

5.     Process Improvement

·      Improve IFRS reporting templates, reconciliation processes, and documentation.

·      Participate in finance transformation and automation initiatives.

·      Support data validation and reporting accuracy improvement

IV.   Requirements of the role:

-       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

-       Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting, audit, or IFRS reporting.

-       Strong knowledge of IFRS standards and financial reporting.

-       Experience in IFRS conversion projects is preferred.

-       Big 4 audit experience is an advantage.

-       Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or ICAEW are preferred.

-       Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of IFRS and VAS differences.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and consolidation.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is preferred.
  • Ability to prepare technical accounting documentation and reconciliations

-       Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Team player with proactive mindset

-       Key Deliverables / KPI Examples:
