JOB DESCRIPTION
VinRobotics, based in Hanoi, Vietnam, is developing advanced, high-performance controller and communication for humanoid and collaborative robots. We seek an experienced Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the design, validation, and optimization of digital/highspeed hardware, including computing, sensors, communications boards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead architecture, schematics, and design of high-speed digital hardware systems including PCIe, Ethernet, DDR memory subsystems, and SoC/FPGA-based computer platforms.
- Design and debug power delivery circuits include low-voltage regulators, DC-DC converters, and power sequencing for high-performance processors and FPGAs.
- Perform high-speed signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) design, simulation, and optimization to ensure stable system performance.
- Coordinate PCB layout efforts, perform design reviews, and validate prototypes through rigorous bench testing and debugging.
- Execute detailed validation tests, utilizing advanced instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and EMI/EMC testing equipment.
- Support system-level testing, including torque output measurements, temperature profiling, and reliability tests to ensure actuator performance targets.
- Work closely with embedded software engineers and mechanical design engineers to integrate electronic hardware seamlessly into actuator systems.
- Support hardware bring-up, troubleshoot integration issues, and optimize system performance across functional teams.
- Maintain meticulous documentation, including detailed schematics, PCB layout files, component libraries, BoM management, test procedures, and technical reports.
- Ensure design compliance with applicable industry standards (CE, RoHS, EMC directives) and support certification processes.
- Collaborate with sourcing specialists to select and evaluate component suppliers.
- Provide technical guidance on component selection, alternative sourcing strategies, and vendor qualification processes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in board-level hardware design.
- Proven experience with high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe Gen3/Gen4/Gen5, DDR3/4/5, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, MIPI, SERDES).
- Strong knowledge of power design, PDN, DC-DC converters, and power sequencing for computer platforms.
- Hands-on experience using schematic tools (prefer Altium).
- Strong experience with lab bench debug instruments: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNAs, power analyzers, protocol analyzers.
- Solid understanding of EMI/EMC, ESD, grounding, thermal, derating, and reliability requirements.
- Good documentation, design review, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and project-driving capability in cross-functional environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience designing computer boards with CPUs/GPUs, networking switches, FPGAs (Xilinx/Intel), or embedded SoCs.
- Knowledge of Ethernet PHY, switch chips, and networking systems.
- Familiarity with server, storage, automotive, or industrial electronics design.
- Expertise in board-level power integrity, transient response optimization, and high efficiency power stages.
- Experience with DFM/DFT, PCB stack-up design, and manufacturing collaboration.
- Understanding of hardware security/trust, secure boot, TPM, or system resilience concepts is a plus.
- Experience with industry standards and certifications: PCI-SIG, IEEE Ethernet, CE/FCC/EMC, UL.
