We are looking for a Senior General Accountant to strengthen our Finance team in Vietnam. Reporting to the Chief Accountant, you will own full-cycle accounting for the entity from daily bookkeeping and month-end close to tax compliance, statutory reporting, and audit support.
Responsibilities:
- Own month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
- Handle and review daily accounting transactions: invoices, payments, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses, revenue, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Manage and reconcile inventory records, accounting documents, and maintain proper filing of supporting documents.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards, local regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Assist in tax compliance processes including VAT, CIT, PIT filings, tax audits, and inspections.
- Contribute to developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting processes, internal controls, and policies.
- Collaborate with other departments (procurement, sales, operations) to ensure data consistency and transparency across functions.
- Participate in system upgrades, business transformation projects, and continuous process improvements.
- Coordinate with external auditors during interim and year-end audits; resolve audit queries within deadlines.
- Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Commercial, and Operations on reporting, analysis, and ad-hoc finance projects.
Coach and review the work of junior accountants on technical accounting matters.
Requirement:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related field
- Familiar with VAS and IFRS
- ACCA, CPA, or other professional qualifications are a strong advantage
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting operations and tax, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Big 4 auditing or professional tax / accounting agency experience is a plus
- Solid knowledge of Vietnamese tax regulations and accounting standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
