Objective of role:
This position is responsible for overseeing full-set accounting for all group entities, ensuring transactions
are accurately recorded and fully compliant with applicable accounting standards and regulations. The
role manages the general ledger, leads the monthly closing process, and ensures timely and accurate
financial reporting.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, high integrity, and exceptional attention to
detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving accounting issues. You will also serve as
a strong leader, guiding and supporting the accounting team to achieve high performance and continuous
improvement.
Detailed responsibilities/accountabilities
Job description:
- Supervise team members to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in timely manner.
- Oversee and monitor monthly expenditures, ensuring accurate recording and proper review of
prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, sales transactions, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Lead and manage the month-end closing process, ensuring all deliverables are completed
accurately, thoroughly reviewed, and finalized within the established timeline.
- Prepare financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet (BS), and other
periodic management reports.
- Oversee all tax-related matters including liaising with Tax authorities and ensure accurate and
timely submission of periodic tax declarations in full compliance with prevailing tax regulations.
- Analyze financial data and generate internal statistical and analytical reports to support management decision-making.
- Liaise with external auditors, prepare required schedules and supporting documents, and ensure
a smooth audit process with timely completion and submission of financial statements.
- Work closely with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and improve
processes. Ensure all operations comply with internal controls and tax regulations.
- Proactively stay updated on the latest laws and tax regulations and ensure correct application in
the company's accounting records. Submit all tax reports on time as required by the government.
- Supporting Accounting Manager to instruct other team members in accounting and tax-related
matters.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 45 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the retail industry.
- Knowledge of IFRS is preferred; candidates available for immediate onboarding will have an
advantage.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations related to retail and import
export activities.
- Good command of English, especially in communication.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work independently; strong time management and
analytical skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify accounting and financial risks and propose
solutions.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; strong command of Microsoft Office
applications and familiarity with data analysis tools.
