We know that a business only thrives if our people are thriving. That why we always put our people first. Our global and diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in many ways. Who knows where our joint journey will take you
We are looking for a
Senior Financial Analyst who does not just report on the business — but helps run it. You will be the commercial backbone of Siemens Grid Software's Vietnam operations, working closely with project managers, sales teams, and regional leadership across the full lifecycle, from the first customer conversation through project delivery and close.
This role requires someone equally comfortable challenging a bid margin, negotiating a contract clause, and presenting a forecast to senior management — and who takes genuine pride in the commercial health of the business they support. The position will be based in
Hanoi.
About Siemens Grid Software
The global energy landscape is transforming fast. As renewables pour into the grid in ever-greater volumes, power networks face a new kind of complexity — unpredictable supply, shifting demand patterns, and the constant pressure to keep the lights on reliably and efficiently. Siemens Grid Software helps utilities, energy-intensive industries, and grid operators meet that challenge through software, professional services, and project-based solutions spanning grid planning, simulation, and real-time operations.
The business is built around a growing software portfolio — recurring revenue, subscription models, and a product-driven commercial logic — complemented by complex multi-year projects and technical services. For the right finance professional, that combination makes for an unusually varied and commercially rich role.
You'll make an impact by:
Financial Planning & Controlling
- Own the financial planning cycle for the Siemens Grid Software Vietnam business, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency of financial reporting across business units and accounting entities, in line with IFRS and Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS)
- Monitor and manage cost allocation, asset tracking, and cash flow across the project portfolio
- Prepare and present regular financial reports to regional management, including milestone reviews and project status updates; support month-end and year-end close activities
- Ensure compliance with local statutory reporting obligations, tax filings, and interactions with Vietnamese fiscal authorities
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting tools, and internal controls
- Support standardized segment level budgeting and consolidation, ensuring alignment between sales planning and financial forecasts.
- Support implementation of financial, accounting, and business administration policies, standards, and procedures for the assigned organization unit
Commercial Project Management & Controlling
- Serve as the commercial counterpart to the Project Manager throughout the full project lifecycle — from kick-off through final costing and lessons learned
- Manage all commercial and legal aspects of project execution, including contract interpretation, bank guarantees, insurance, currency exposure, and fiscal considerations; ensure commercial tools reflect the correct contractual structure at all times
- Oversee order entry calculation, concurrent costing, and final project costing; prepare and track customer invoices and actively manage payment claims and outstanding receivables
- Steer procurement and supply chain from a commercial perspective, including export control and customs compliance (ECC)
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities in close collaboration with the Project Manager; lead claim and change order management — asserting own claims, defending against unjustified ones, and negotiating contractual amendments where required
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and legal contract conditions with customers, consortium partners, and subcontractors; ensure full compliance with fiscal regulations, commercial law, and Siemens internal guidelines
- Review and analyze supplier and customer contracts to ensure compliant and standardized contract management
- Support accountable Sales Management by providing financial advice and business administration guidance
- Propose financial and administrative measures to support effective and profitable business segment management
Sales Finance & Tendering
- Support the commercial structuring and review of bids and proposals for new business opportunities in Vietnam and the broader region
- Conduct pricing analysis and profitability assessments during the tendering phase, ensuring bids are commercially sound and aligned with risk appetite
- Analyze complex international contract scenarios and provide commercial guidance to sales and bid teams; collaborate with legal, tax, and compliance functions to ensure risks are identified before contract signature
- Contribute to pricing strategies and commercial frameworks that support sustainable growth
- Support preparation of complex bids and tenders for project business from a business administration and sales finance perspective
Your defining qualities:
Technical & Financial Skills
- Solid foundation in accounting and financial controlling, with hands-on experience in revenue recognition under IFRS 15; experience with long-term project accounting is a strong plus
- Familiarity with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and experience dealing with auditors, local customs and tax authorities, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements in Vietnam
- Experience in project controlling within a project-based or engineering/technology business environment
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial planning and reporting tools
- Strong analytical skills — you can turn complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
Commercial & Legal Acumen
- Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate commercial contracts, including key legal concepts such as liability, indemnities, payment terms, and change orders
- Working knowledge of export control, customs regulations, and Vietnam-specific tax regulations (VAT, CIT, withholding tax), as well as broader transfer pricing principles in an international context
Soft Skills & Ways of Working
- You think like a business owner — you care about outcomes, not just outputs, and you hold yourself accountable for the commercial performance of what you touch
- A natural collaborator across functions — finance, legal, sales, operations — who never loses sight of the numbers
- Comfortable presenting to senior management; clear, confident, and concise communicator in both written and verbal form
- You excel at transforming ambiguity into clear structure and consistently demonstrate sound commercial judgment, even in situations where information is incomplete
- Proficient in both Vietnamese and English; ability to navigate local business culture and build relationships with Vietnamese authorities and stakeholders is a genuine advantage
Experience
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in financial controlling, FP&A, or commercial finance — ideally within a technology, energy, or project-driven business
- Experience working in or with multinational organizations operating in Vietnam; familiarity with Siemens processes and tools is an advantage but not required
In return, we offer you:
- Attractive allowances
- Gain hands-on experience in a professional setting.
- Opportunity to work on meaningful projects and make a real impact.
- Mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Recruitment Process:
- CV Screening
- A session with our recruiter to understand your motivation & your past experiences
- 1-3 Business Interviews
- Confirmation
