Employment type: Full-time, paid position
Reports to: Finance Manager / Deputy Finance Manager, with exposure to the CFO Office
About DDS
DDS did not begin in a glass tower.
Our journey began with a group of seafarers who worked through storms, uncertainty and hardship together. For nearly four decades, many of them have continued walking the same path, treating one another with the trust and responsibility of a family.
Over approximately 20 years of building the business, DDS has grown from a company generating several billion Vietnamese đồng in revenue into a group with revenue reaching tens of thousands of billions of Vietnamese đồng.
That journey was built by people who did real work, accepted real responsibility and stayed committed when the work became difficult.
DDS is now preparing for its next stage. We are looking for a Finance Analyst who can combine financial discipline, critical thinking and modern technology to help us build a more analytical, productive and financially resilient organization.
The role
This is not a position focused only on updating spreadsheets.
You will help the Finance team monitor the Group's cash flow, bank facilities, loans, letters of credit, working capital and financing costs. Your analysis will support real decisions involving liquidity, cargo financing, banking and investment.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Question numbers that do not make sense.
- Structure complex problems clearly and systematically.
- Identify risks before they become urgent.
- Take responsibility from identification through resolution.
- Use AI, analytics and cloud tools to improve productivity.
- Continuously find better ways for both yourself and the team to work.
Core responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts and payment-obligation schedules.
- Monitor bank limits, outstanding loans, available facilities, interest rates, collateral, covenants and maturities.
- Coordinate credit applications, facility renewals, loan disbursements, repayments and bank guarantees.
- Monitor import and domestic LCs, including issuance, amendments, documents, fees, maturity and settlement.
- Analyze debt, interest, banking fees and financing costs by bank, cargo, business unit and project.
- Monitor receivables, payables, overdue balances and critical collection or payment risks.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and variance analysis.
- Prepare decision-ready reports and dashboards for the Finance Manager and CFO Office.
- Support banks, auditors, tax authorities and internal compliance requirements.
- Improve financial templates, controls, workflows and reporting processes.
Minimum operating requirements
These are the minimum responsibilities expected from the position.
Daily
- Confirm cash and bank balances and prepare the daily cash-position update.
- Update confirmed receipts, payments, loan movements and LC transactions within the working day.
- Review upcoming financial obligations and identify any liquidity, maturity or documentation risk.
- Escalate critical issues immediately with the amount, impact, proposed action, responsible owner and deadline.
- Follow open items through to completion instead of only forwarding information.
Weekly
- Update the rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
- Update and reconcile the bank facility, debt, LC, receivable and payable trackers.
- Review obligations due within the next 7, 14 and 30 days.
- Prepare a concise exception report covering liquidity gaps, overdue items, approaching maturities, data inconsistencies and required decisions.
- Follow up with Accounting, Trading, Import–Export, Sales and Operations on missing or conflicting information.
Monthly
- Reconcile loans, interest, banking fees and key financial schedules with Accounting.
- Prepare the monthly finance management pack covering cash flow, debt, bank facilities, LCs, working capital and financing costs.
- Review actual performance against budget and forecast.
- Update collateral, insurance, banking covenant and facility-renewal status.
- Identify material financial trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
Continuous improvement
- Maintain clear data sources, supporting documents and version control for all reports.
- Use approved AI and cloud tools responsibly and in accordance with company confidentiality and data-security requirements.
- Reduce repetitive manual work through practical automation, templates and better workflows.
- Identify and implement at least one measurable process or productivity improvement each quarter.
Required mindsetCritical thinking
Do not accept a figure simply because it appears in a report. Verify the source, test the assumption and understand the financial impact.
Systematic thinking
Break problems into facts, causes, impacts, options, owners, actions and deadlines. Understand how one financial decision may affect banking, trading, accounting and operations.
Ownership
Do not stop at identifying a problem or forwarding an email. Follow the matter through until it is resolved, escalated or formally handed over.
Decisiveness and initiative
Act early, communicate clearly and propose solutions. We value people who look for the next necessary action without waiting for repeated instructions.
Technology and productivity
Use AI, analytics, automation and cloud tools to increase accuracy, reduce manual work and improve the productivity of the wider team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- One to three years of relevant experience in corporate finance, banking, treasury, trade finance, FP&A, accounting or auditing.
- Strong Excel skills, including cash flow, debt schedules, pivot tables and financial analysis.
- Ability to read financial statements, credit agreements, bank documents and LC documentation.
- Working knowledge of AI tools, data analytics and cloud collaboration platforms.
- Familiarity with Power Query, Power BI, Looker Studio, SQL, Python, Odoo, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 is an advantage.
- Experience in petroleum trading, import–export, logistics, commodities or another working-capital-intensive industry is preferred.
Candidates are not expected to be software engineers. However, they must be willing to learn and demonstrate how technology can help them work faster, better and more accurately.
How performance is measured
- Accurate and timely cash flow and management reports.
- Early identification and escalation of liquidity and financing risks.
- Fully updated and traceable bank, debt, LC and collateral records.
- No controllable LC, loan or payment deadline missed.
- Reconciled financial schedules with clearly documented sources.
- Useful recommendations—not merely raw data.
- Effective coordination and closure of cross-functional action items.
- Measurable improvements in reporting quality, processing time or team productivity.
Performance recognition and salary review
At DDS, contribution is not measured only by title, age or years of service.
People who accept greater responsibility, solve difficult problems, improve productivity and consistently create measurable value should have the opportunity to grow faster.
Professional development and compensation reviews are therefore not limited only to a fixed annual cycle. When an employee's contribution, capability and scope of responsibility increase materially, their role and compensation may be reviewed in accordance with documented performance, company policy and business conditions.
Greater contribution creates the opportunity for greater recognition. Salary adjustments are not automatic, but strong performance does not need to wait silently for the calendar.
What DDS offers
- Real work and meaningful responsibility from the beginning.
- Direct exposure to treasury, banking, trade finance, FP&A and management decisions.
- Opportunities to learn from leaders who have built businesses through multiple market cycles.
- Freedom to propose better systems, tools and operating methods.
- Recognition based on integrity, capability, ownership and measurable contribution.
- Career opportunities across Treasury, Trade Finance, FP&A, Financial Intelligence and Finance Management.
Career path: Finance Analyst → Senior Finance Analyst → Treasury / Trade Finance / FP&A Specialist → Finance Supervisor → Assistant Finance Manager → Finance Manager
Progression is based on readiness and contribution—not simply time served.
