Job Summary
The Senior Officer – Finance is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations and delivering high-quality, timely financial reporting in compliance with local regulations and Regional Finance requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring books and records are accurately maintained in line with financial policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks; conduct regular reviews to uphold control standards.
- Review and propose updates to accounting policies and procedures in response to evolving business scale and operational needs.
- Serve as the primary liaison with banks for payment processing, beneficiary management, competitive interest rate negotiations, and term deposit planning in accordance with LRAP guidelines.
- Act as custodian of accounting and banking systems; drive continuous improvement and optimization to support business growth.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany balances and transactions in coordination with other Group entities.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial and management reports for the HOD, covering P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, Financial Statements, and all regulatory submissions to the SSC, NFSC, SBV, and Statistics Department.
- Liaise with external auditors (Big 4 – EY, PwC, etc.) and internal auditors (GwIA), providing required documentation and support.
- Review and analyze financial transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax filings (VAT, WHT, CIT, PIT) and ensure timely settlement of all tax liabilities; prepare DTA documentation and other ad hoc tax reports as required; issue VAT invoices in a timely manner.
- Advise the Admin team on policy-related additions, revisions, or amendments to ensure company-wide alignment.
- Perform reconciliation and verification of trade union contributions and social insurance obligations.
- Stay current on financial, tax, and regulatory developments relevant to business operations in Vietnam.
- Manage company assets, coordinate with IT on annual asset inventory, and recommend appropriate asset management approaches to the HOD.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable functions; collaborate with management to periodically review and recommend appropriate trading terms for customers and suppliers.
- Support the HOD in company planning and ad hoc reporting initiatives.
- Develop, mentor, and retain talent within the accounting team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; a recognized professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
- Experience in banking, financial services, capital markets, or fund management is a strong plus.
- Sound knowledge of Vietnamese taxation, audit practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate confidently across all levels of the organization.
