Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for measurement and testing equipment
- Analyze current measurement processes and identify opportunities for improvement in accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency
- Modify and upgrade existing test systems, fixtures, and measurement devices
- Develop and maintain control software (PLC, LabVIEW, Python, etc.) for automated measurement systems
- Integrate sensors, data acquisition systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP)
- Define technical specifications and requirements for new or upgraded measurement systems
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot issues related to measurement systems and automation equipment
- Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to define measurement requirements and improvement plans
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) related to measurement processes
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, calibration requirements, and industry regulations
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design, work instructions, and validation reports
- Support equipment qualification, validation, and calibration activities
- Keep confidential for technical data
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's / master's degree in automation, electronic, mechatronic engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years with a bachelor's degree or 3 years with a master's degree in similar role at international manufacturing company.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of measurement systems, sensors, and data acquisition
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.) or automation software tools
- Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, or similar
- Exposure to Industry 4.0, IoT, or smart factory concepts
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or above) is a plus
- Knowledge of robotics is a plus
- Experience with industrial communication protocols and control systems integration
- Experience with industrial communication protocols and control systems integration
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, motion control systems, and machine vision
- Understanding of MSA (Measurement System Analysis), calibration, and quality standards is preferred
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and in cross-functional teams
- Good communication skills in English.
