Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
1/ ORDER EVALUATION/ COST EVALUATION AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT (35%):
- Obtain the application information of the customer's products through sales department or network, understand the customer's requirement for the product, and then provide feasible process plans and control sheet, accurate yield and process time and other cost information in the grounds of cost composition of the similar product processing technology.
- Conduct the evaluation on the products such as raw materials, special fixtures and tooling, special consumables and so on after the evaluation of customer requirements indicators and assist SPEC engineer to communication with sales and customers.
- Provide timely response to customer quotation or inquiry, and for difficult products or products beyond internal normal capacity, summarize internal evaluation opinions or suggestions in time and provide customers with the best alternative if customer needs.
- Participate in New Product Introduction
2/ ORGANIZE TO RESOLVE QUALITY AND TECHNICAL PROBLEM TO ENSURE PRODUCTS MEET CUSTOMER'S REQUIREMENTS (25%):
- Track and understand the customer's intended use of the product, assist QE to organize the relevant personnel to solve the quality and technical problems complained by the customer in a timely manner, and provide the comprehensively professional FA report as needed.
- For quality problems happened during the fabrication process, first understand the real situation and organize relevant personnel to provide the temporary solutions. Through rational experimental arrangements and by adoption of comprehensive quality analysis methods, identify the root causes of problems and provide effective solutions and actions.
- For major quality problems or critical product, launch a project for improvement. Working as project leader, comprehensively manage the project process/status, organize the progress according to the II-VI's project management procedure and track the progress to provide a phased summary at the important stages of each project.
- For key products, draw up the product specifications, initiate and implement HFMEA/ PFMEA, and work out control plans and operation documents.
3/ PROCESS STANDARDIZATION, IMPROVEMENT AND OPTIMIZATION (20%):
- Organize the preparation and design/revision of process documents to standardize the production process, including work instructions, process cards, process key control parameter, records and so on, in accordance with product characteristics and internal process capabilities.
- Improve the processing capability through the optimization of the process flow, tooling, fixture and packaging, in accordance with the requirements of the product and the current process plan,
- According to the advanced technology in the industry, actively develop new processes and new methods suitable for our products, and enhance internal process capabilities through equipment transformation or process innovation.
- For important product, draw up the HFMEA for implementation, and conduct regular product/ process audits.
- Responsible for product drawing review and drawing revision.
- Responsible for PN application and revision.
- Responsible for process design and revision.
4/ QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND COST REDUCTION (15%):
- Focus on product quality to organize on-site analysis of adverse factors and analyze non-conformance. Provide timely and effective responses to all types of CARs, and FA report for major non-conformance.
- Analyze key products not meeting quality goals, lead team to develop action plans, and continuously improve quality through PDCA;
- Summarize the problems in daily work through routine daily or weekly reports and draft plans to follow up and resolve them.
- By auditing operators actual operation process and workshop management method, find abnormal phenomena or process problems, solve them through effective communication and scientific analysis method, and improve product quality through facts and data.
- Drive optimization of product performance, product process, yield and cost
5/COMPLETE OTHER TASKS ASSIGNED BY SUPERIORS, AND PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND SERVICES FOR OTHER FUNCTIONS (5%):
- Cooperate with quality engineers to improve testing methods, measurement instruments and solve customer complaints.
- Provide technical support and services in conjunction with sales, quality assurance, procurement, production, planning and other departments;
- Guide and train employees to fully understand the process requirements, and track product processing in real time to ensure quality meets customer requirements;
- Fully understand the needs of the tasks assigned by the superiors, draft plans and strive to complete them on time, summarize the reports in case of any problems, and actively achieve the goals.
Education & Experience
- Education:
- BS degree in engineering or sciences, prefer from the field of:
- Optics Fabrication Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Experience:
- 5+ years working experience in manufacturing & process engineering; working in an optics manufacturing environment or a highly technical, quality oriented, high volume, light-manufacturing environment.
Skills
- Experience in well-developed fault isolation, problem solving & analytical skills.
- Methodize and improve production processes.
- Experience in designing tools and fixture for optical testing systems.
- Do P-FMEA, SPC and other statistical methods is a plus
- Experience in using AutoCAD (SolidWorks is an advantage)
- Ability to use English for Business communication.
- Mandarin as the 3rd language is an advantage.

- Works in standard office/manufacturing environment
