Key Responsibilities
- Own and optimize Thin Film / Optical Coating processes to achieve yield, quality, cost, cycle time, and process capability targets.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for coating equipment, process troubleshooting, and production abnormalities.
- Analyze process performance using SPC, P-FMEA, statistical methods, and root cause analysis to reduce variation and improve process stability.
- Lead qualification of new materials, equipment, tooling, consumables, and coating processes.
- Drive process optimization and continuous improvement projects focusing on yield improvement, cost reduction, cycle-time reduction, and capability enhancement.
- Develop new coating techniques and process methods to expand manufacturing capability and support new products.
- Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation including WI, WPS, BOM, Routing, P-FMEA, and process specifications.
- Lead technical trials and evaluate process changes before implementation into mass production.
- Develop and qualify alternative materials, tooling, consumables, and equipment to improve cost and supply continuity.
- Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing processes.
- Train and provide technical guidance to Engineers, Technicians, and Operators on coating processes and equipment operation.
- Support Quality in customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for engineering-related issues.
- Partner with Production, Quality, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Conduct technical and cost reviews for new customer/product requirements and support new business introduction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related Engineering/Science disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing / Process Engineering experience, preferably within optics, thin-film, precision, or high-tech manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience or strong technical knowledge in Thin Film / Optical Coating is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in process troubleshooting, fault isolation, root cause analysis, and manufacturing process optimization.
- Strong knowledge of SPC, P-FMEA, process capability, and statistical analysis.
- Experience in process qualification, yield improvement, cycle-time optimization, and cost reduction.
- Experience designing or improving jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing tooling.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent engineering design software.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills with a hands-on manufacturing mindset.
- Good English communication skills; Mandarin is an advantage.
