The Senior Engineer, Customer Order Engineering - Mechanical, will be expected to lead activities listed below on subsea xmas trees components and systems with assigned resources, meeting company and external engineering competence standards as defined within specific work Instructions for delivery on customer global projects. Candidates will be able to plan engineering activities, implement resources, and oversee design activities to achieve objectives.

As a Senior Engineer, Customer Order Engineering - Mechanical, you will be responsible for:

  • Interpret requirements and specifications for the purposes of engineering design.
  • Define scopes of engineering work and establish engineering plans for allocation across resources which include parts, drawings, reports and procedures for extended delivery on projects.
  • Approve drawings, selection of components, stack-ups, assembly procedures, and support manufacturing,
  • Interpret customer engineering specifications to produce layout, detail and assembly designs and specifications
  • Develop conceptual design requirements and layouts for review following company design process management (DPM) protocols.
  • Develop general design specifications for interpretation by other engineers and designers.
  • Retrieve and submit data in PDM link software following company protocols.
  • Approve detail, fabrication and assembly level drawings to ASME Y14.5 standards and format.
  • Approve detail designs for manufacture and participate and create material for design reviews including materials and environmental reviews using relevant software to prepare general drawings.
  • Approve Bill of Materials (BOM) in documentation system, generated by other engineers.
  • Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: Tolerance studies, design reliability, design for manufacture, simple failure analysis, design reviews, simple calculations for basic design Verification purposes.
  • Identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost effective solutions to satisfy specifications
  • Approve factory acceptance (FAT) procedures, prototype Test Procedures and document results (PVT) by other engineers.
  • Approve pressure vessel and structural engineering calculations for design layout purposes.
  • Ensure all design activities and documents are correctly archived in electronic document management system.
  • Understand and apply design for manufacture principles for turning, machining, drilling, milling, and welding processes to ensure designs are suitable and allow for efficient manufacture and assembly.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • MSc /BSc Degree / in: Mechanical / Electrical, /Fluid Mechanics, /Chemistry / .Automation / Controls Engineering or equivalent with extensive design experience in lieu.
  • Candidate should demonstrate considerable evidence of post-graduate industrial experience of which some should be in relevant engineering and technical role.
  • Conscientious, flexible, versatile and determined.
  • Capable of assertive and positive communication and performance.
  • Fully fluent in English language: other location-specific languages desirable.
  • Sufficient understanding of behavioural personnel issues. Can work effectively with team members.
  • Flexible in applying different approaches to changing work demands
  • Appropriate standard of technical, safety and professional knowledge as defined by competences.
  • Fully familiar with Risk Assessment and Reliability Verification Procedures.
  • Highly knowledgeable of current relevant industry standards and codes for area of work.
