Job description
This role is for a DevOps Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team and handle cloud infrastructure and deployment activities for a Germany-based project. Working in an Agile Scrum environment, the focus will be on enhancing system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency across cloud platforms.
The project centers on a digital insurance platform that enables businesses to embed insurance services directly into their products via flexible integrations. It streamlines the full insurance lifecycle—from policy issuance to claims handling—by automating backend processes and offering tailored, cloud-driven solutions with dedicated support for both partners and end users.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and enhance cloud-based systems and infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Support the release process by enabling smooth and consistent delivery of software updates to end users.
- Monitor system performance, proactively identify issues, and implement timely resolutions.
- Contribute to testing and quality assurance efforts to ensure stable and reliable releases.
- Collaborate closely with team members, provide regular progress updates, and estimate task timelines.
- Report to the team lead and continuously stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Must-Have
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong English communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as container orchestration, networking, compute, storage, identity, and streaming services.
- Solid experience working with Kubernetes environments, along with tools for deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience working in Agile environments.
2. Nice to Have
- Exposure to event-driven architectures or real-time data streaming ecosystems (e.g., Kafka, Redpanda or equivalent)
- Familiarity with secrets management and secure configuration practices within cloud-native environments
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including ingress routing, TLS/certificate handling, and DNS automation
- Hands-on experience with observability practices, covering metrics, logging, and system monitoring platforms
- Awareness of identity and access management principles in distributed systems
- Prior experience collaborating within international or cross-regional teams
- Domain exposure to regulated or transaction-heavy industries such as financial services, insurance, or payments
- Familiarity with scalable, service-oriented architectures (e.g., microservices, modular frontend patterns)
