YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Infrastructure & Platform Management
- Design and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for microservices (ECS, EKS, RDS, VPC, networking)
- Kubernetes cluster management — deploy, configure, and maintain EKS clusters with high availability and security
- Infrastructure as Code — develop and maintain Terraform/CloudFormation templates for repeatable infrastructure provisioning
- Container orchestration — manage Docker container lifecycle, registries (ECR), and deployment strategies
- Network architecture — design and implement secure VPCs, subnets, security groups, routing, and load balancers
- Database management — support PostgreSQL and Oracle RDS instances, backups, scaling, and performance tuning
CI/CD Pipeline Engineering
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Harness and Jenkins for automated build, test, and deployment
- Deployment automation — implement blue-green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies
- Pipeline optimization — reduce build times, improve reliability, and enhance developer experience
- Artifact management — manage artifact repositories (JFrog Artifactory, ECR) and versioning strategies
- Quality gates — integrate automated testing, security scanning (SonarQube, Snyk), and compliance checks
- Release management — coordinate releases, rollbacks, and deployment approvals
Monitoring, Observability & Incident Management
- Implement monitoring solutions — configure OpenSearch,
- AppDynamics
- and CloudWatch dashboards
- Alerting — design alert strategies
- Log aggregation — manage centralized logging for microservices and infrastructure
- Performance monitoring — track application and infrastructure metrics, identify bottlenecks
- Incident response — troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, implement preventive measures
- Capacity planning — monitor resource utilization and plan for scaling
Security & Compliance
- Security hardening — implement security best practices for cloud infrastructure and containers
- Secrets management — manage HashiCorp Vault and AWS Secrets Manager for credential storage
- Compliance automation — ensure infrastructure meets APRA, Privacy Act, and NAB security standards
- Vulnerability management — scan container images and infrastructure for vulnerabilities
- Access control — implement IAM policies, RBAC for Kubernetes, and principle of least privilege
- Audit logging — ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements
Collaboration & Enablement
- Support development teams — enable developers to deploy and troubleshoot their microservices
- Documentation — maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures in Confluence
- Knowledge sharing — mentor team members on DevOps practices and cloud technologies
- Cross-team collaboration — work with development, QA, security, and architecture teams
- Continuous improvement — identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and automation
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Skills:
- 7+ years of experience with AWS cloud platform and services
- Strong Kubernetes/EKS experience with cluster management
- Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and implementation (Harness, Jenkins)
- Strong IaC proficiency (Terraform primarily; CloudFormation/Ansible a plus)
- Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
- Observability tooling (OpenSearch, CloudWatch, AppDynamics) and alert design
- Scripting and automation (Python, Bash)
- Experience supporting Spring Boot microservices in production environments - desirable
Professional Experience:
- Experience working in regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, insurance preferred)
- Background supporting high-volume transaction processing systems
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills
- Experience with Agile/DevOps culture and practices
- Security-first mindset with cloud security best practices
Domain Knowledge:
- Healthcare claims experience is beneficial but not required
- Candidates from payments, banking, or insurance domains with similar infrastructure patterns can succeed
- The core challenges (high availability, security, compliance, scalability) are transferable
- Domain knowledge will be supported through team onboarding and documentation
