About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Architect / Senior Interior Designer with at least 10 years of professional experienceacross both disciplines. The successful candidate will lead integrated projects from concept through documentation and construction, combining strong design ability with technical, coordination and team-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Project Leadership
- Lead architectural and interior design projects from concept through completion.
- Develop integrated concepts responding to the brief, site, operational needs, budget and programme.
- Set the design direction, spatial character, material palette and technical approach.
- Review layouts, elevations, sections, details, materials and presentation packages.
- Maintain design quality and consistency across architecture, interiors, façade, landscape and engineering disciplines.
Technical Design and Documentation
- Lead design development, tender and construction documentation, ensuring coordinated and buildable outputs.
- Review architectural and interior details, including ceilings, flooring, joinery, finishes, lighting and fixed furniture.
- Coordinate statutory, accessibility, fire-safety and technical requirements and ensure code compliance.
- Review shop drawings, samples, mock-ups, technical submissions and substitutions.
- Resolve design and technical issues during tender and construction.
Project, Team and Client Management
- Plan deliverables, resources, responsibilities and deadlines; identify risks early.
- Lead, mentor and supervise architects, interior designers and junior team members.
- Allocate work and review the quality and progress of team outputs before submission.
- Act as a senior client contact and lead presentations, workshops and coordination meetings.
- Translate client requirements into practical and commercially appropriate design solutions.
- Coordinate clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Tender and Construction Support
- Respond to tender queries and assist with tender evaluation.
- Attend site meetings and inspections, review works against the approved design intent and resolve site issues.
- Review samples, mock-ups and completed works; assist with defects and project close-out.
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with demonstrated capability in both architecture and interior design.
- Proven experience leading projects through concept, design development, documentation, tender and construction.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design quality, technical competence and completed projects.
- Experience in medium- to large-scale residential, hospitality, commercial or mixed-use projects is preferred.
- Experience managing design teams and multidisciplinary consultants.
- Good knowledge of relevant building codes, authority requirements and construction practices.
- Professional registration or recognised industry accreditation is an advantage.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Competence in three-dimensional modelling, rendering, presentation and Building Information Modelling workflows.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, finishes, detailing and interior fit-out.
- Ability to prepare and review architectural and interior drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence-assisted design and visualisation tools is an advantage.
