Job Description
Database Management:
- Expertise in PostgreSQL database (and other relational database platforms is a plus).
- Experience with Cloudera platform for big data management and integration.
- Proficiency in configuring high-availability solutions in PostgreSQL (e.g., streaming replication, logical replication, clustering).
Backup and Recovery:
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL backup strategies (base backups, WAL archiving, point-in-time recovery).
- Skills in performing and testing data recovery in PostgreSQL and Hadoop environments.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business continuity frameworks, including integration between Postgres and Cloudera components.
Performance Optimization:
- Advanced skills in PostgreSQL query tuning, index optimization, and table partitioning. FPT Software
- Proficiency in using performance monitoring tools such as pg_stat_statements, pgBad ger, or Cloudera Manager.
- Understanding of PostgreSQL and Cloudera database performance metrics, resource management, and bottleneck identification.
Cloudera Integration:
- Experience managing and optimizing data pipelines between PostgreSQL and Cloudera (Hive, Impala, HDFS).
- Familiarity with Sqoop or similar tools for data migration between relational databases and Cloudera/Hadoop ecosystem.
- Knowledge of security best practices for integrating Postgres with Cloudera, including Kerberos and encryption.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system failures across both PostgreSQL and Cloudera environments.
- Critical thinking for assessing risk scenarios and implementing preventive measures.
- Ability to interpret system metrics (PostgreSQL, Cloudera Manager, Hadoop) and antici pate potential issues.
