On behalf of our client, we are looking for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join a fast-growing and well-funded team. This role offers a clear pathway to Data Lead, with the opportunity to build and lead your own data engineering team.
You will play a key role in designing and scaling high-performance data platforms that process 50M+ transactions per day, working with modern data engineering tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines for large-scale transaction systems.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Python and industry-standard ETL tools.
- Orchestrate and automate data workflows using Apache Airflow.
- Work with big data technologies (Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, Hive, Spark) to ensure data reliability and performance.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver high-quality, trusted data.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines to ensure stability and efficiency.
- Document data architecture, pipelines, and best practices.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering.
- (Future scope) Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building the data team as the organization scales.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g. Talend, Informatica, Apache NiFi).
- Solid experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Strong background in big data systems, especially Hadoop and its ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Spark).
- Proven experience working with high-volume transaction systems (50M+ transactions/day).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a strong plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
