JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for owning and optimizing the end-to-end data workflow — from data pipeline development to data modeling and analytics delivery. You will play a critical role in ensuring data is reliable, scalable, and actionable, enabling stakeholders across Operations, Product, and Business teams to make informed decisions and drive performance. Acting as a bridge between data and business, you will transform complex datasets into meaningful insights and sustainable data solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Pipeline & System Optimization

·      Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and dbt to support diverse data use cases

·      Process and handle large-scale datasets (from millions to billions of records) efficiently and reliably

·      Continuously improve system performance and optimize costs through effective query design and pipeline optimization

·      Ensure robustness and stability of data workflows through monitoring, debugging, and enhancement of pipeline processes

Data Modeling & Data Quality

·      Design, develop, and maintain data models (fact/dimension tables, star/snowflake schema) aligned with business requirements

·      Leverage dbt for data modeling, testing (schema and custom tests), and documentation to ensure transparency and maintainability

·      Establish and standardize metric definitions across teams to ensure consistency in reporting and analysis

·      Maintain high data quality through validation, monitoring, and continuous improvement practices

Analytics & Insights

·      Translate business problems and requirements into structured data solutions and measurable KPIs

·      Perform descriptive and statistical analysis to uncover trends, identify issues, and highlight opportunities

·      Deliver reliable, well-structured datasets to support reporting, analytics, and downstream applications

·      Provide actionable insights that support decision-making and drive operational and business improvements

Infrastructure & Environment

·      Work within Linux/Ubuntu environments to manage data operations, troubleshooting, and system-level tasks

·      Utilize Docker to standardize and streamline development and deployment environments

·      Support data pipeline orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring using tools such as Airflow (or equivalent)

Reporting & Dashboard Development

·      Develop and maintain recurring reports (daily/weekly/monthly) to track business performance

·      Build and optimize interactive dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)

·      Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and data accessibility

Cross-functional Collaboration & Ownership

·      Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Operations, Product, and Business teams to understand needs and deliver impactful data solutions

·      Balance ad-hoc analytical requests with scalable, long-term data product development

·      Take ownership of data domains, ensuring data accuracy, usability, and consistency across outputs

·      Proactively identify opportunities to improve data systems, workflows, and overall data maturity within the organization

·      Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields
• 3–5+ years of experience in Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer roles, preferably with large-scale or production data systems
• Strong proficiency in SQL (BigQuery preferred), including window functions, cohort analysis, and query optimization (partitioning, clustering)
• Experience with Python (Pandas, PySpark, etc.) for data processing
• Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts
• Experience with dbt, Git, Docker, Linux is a plus
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate with stakeholders
• High ownership mindset, proactive attitude, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
