ROLE OVERVIEW
At VNG, public relations is about building long term trust with the media, partners, and the wider community.
We are looking for a strategic communications professional who values quality, judgment, and long term relationships. Someone who understands that good PR is calm, careful, and consistent, and who brings strategic thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to stay agile when situations evolve.
As a member of the Corporate PR team, you will help shape and protect the public image of the company, manage high stakes media relationships, and develop narratives around the technologies and businesses we build.
Much of your work will involve turning complex developments into clear and credible narratives, while helping the company engage thoughtfully with both Vietnamese and international media.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Media Relations & Reputation Management
- A core part of the role is building strong and professional relationships with reporters, editors, and industry voices. Not short term pitching, but steady, respectful engagement based on trust and reliability.
- You will help position VNG's stories with leading local and regional media, support executive interviews and media conversations, and ensure that our engagement with journalists remains thoughtful and responsible.
- As VNG's business and partnerships expand beyond Vietnam, you may also support conversations with overseas journalists, prepare materials for international outlets, and help position company stories in regional media.
Content & Narrative Development
- Writing will be central to the role. From press releases to feature stories, from interview briefs to executive quotes, you will help bring clarity and structure to challenging topics.
- You will translate business strategies, product developments, and industry discussions into narratives that are accurate, balanced, and accessible. Strong editorial judgment is just as important as writing ability, including knowing how to shape a message, simplify complex ideas, and maintain the right tone.
- You will also explore new storytelling formats when appropriate, helping the team present complex topics in ways that remain engaging and relevant in an evolving media environment.
Stakeholder Engagement
- You will work closely with colleagues across product, business, legal, investor relations, and marketing teams to ensure our communications reflect real progress and meaningful outcomes.
- Many of the initiatives you support operate in fast changing environments, making context awareness, careful listening, and cross team alignment essential.
Strategic Campaigns & Events
- Beyond day to day media work, you will also contribute to broader communication efforts around corporate milestones, product launches, partnerships, and industry initiatives.
- This includes helping shape the narrative behind these moments, coordinating messaging across teams, and supporting media briefings, roundtables, and major announcements when needed.
Crisis & Issues Communication
- As part of the Corporate PR team, you will also support the company in moments when communication becomes sensitive.
- This may involve preparing responses, aligning key messages, and helping the team maintain clarity and composure when issues arise. The work requires calm judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to move quickly without losing balance or perspective.
REQUIREMENT
Qualifications & Experiences
- We are looking for someone with several years of experience in public relations, journalism, corporate communications, or related fields.
- More importantly, we value maturity in thinking and sound professional judgment. The right candidate understands tone, reads situations well, and knows when to push forward and when to pause.
- You should be media savvy, comfortable navigating challenging situations, and able to balance speed with care. Agility, adaptability, and strong attention to detail are important qualities in this role, along with a genuine interest in technology, innovation, and the stories behind them.
