The program
Aus4Skills Phase 3 is a ten-year DFAT-funded program partnering with the Government of Vietnam to strengthen bilateral ties by supporting Vietnam's human resource development priorities. Focused on higher education, the Vietnam Australia Centre, and vocational education and training (VET), the program builds workforce-ready, inclusive, climate-adaptive skills, public sector leadership, and alumni networks. It targets gender equality, disability and social inclusion, and support for disadvantaged Australia Awards students. Outcomes include stronger AustraliaVietnam strategic partnerships, enhanced public sector leadership and women's advancement, and industry-aligned VET that meets labour market needs while promoting social equity and sustainable growth.
The role
The Senior Coordinator, Alumni Engagement delivers alumni networking, professional development and grants activities in line with an approved strategy. Reporting to the Manager Higher Education & Engagement, the role manages the Australian Alumni Grants Fund (AAGF), and delivery of alumni professional development activities and events (including oversight of financials and reporting requirements) . The role ensures cross cutting initiatives are embedded into activities, and supports monitoring, evaluation and learning. . The Senior Coordinator plays an integral role in helping Australia Awards alumni leverage skills and networks to contribute to bilateral development priorities and stronger AustraliaVietnam relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement annual alumni engagement activities per strategy and plans
- Plan and deliver alumni events, professional groups and networking opportunities
- Manage the Australian Alumni Grants Fund end-to-end
- Maintain alumni database and leverage digital communications
- Prepare reports, budgets and undertake stakeholder liaison with partners
- Mainstream GEDSI, safeguards and support MEL
Selection criteria
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in communications, business, HR or related field
- Professional experience in alumni engagement, project or event management (preferably at least 5 years)
- Experience managing small grants highly desirable
- Strong written and oral communication skills in Vietnamese and English
- Proficient with databases, MS Office and digital communications
- Knowledge of GEDSI, PSEAH, child protection and fraud control
