Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Concrete Estimator to join our client's remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site data to produce accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for concrete construction projects. This is a detail-driven, output-focused position requiring strong technical knowledge of concrete construction, sharp quantitative skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under deadline pressure.
Working Location: Home-based setup
Work Schedule: 07:00AM – 4:00PM or 09:00AM –6:00PM (PST)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for concrete, reinforcement (rebar), and formwork based on project drawings and specifications
- Conduct cost analysis covering materials, labor, equipment, and transportation
- Prepare comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable rates
- Conduct site evaluations to identify project constraints, risks, and constructability considerations; apply time and motion studies to optimize workflows
- Monitor project budgets against original estimates and provide regular cost updates to project teams
- Collaborate with internal sales, project management, and construction teams throughout the estimating and bidding process
Must-Have:
- Proven experience performing quantity takeoffs for concrete, rebar, and formwork
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and quantify from construction drawings, engineering plans, and specifications
- Experience developing accurate cost estimates and preparing competitive construction bids and proposals
- Hands-on proficiency with Bluebeam and/or other construction/concrete estimating software
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and applicable building codes
- High proficiency in mathematics (algebra, geometry) with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and field staff
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience negotiating pricing and building strong supplier/subcontractor relationships
- Experience conducting site visits to assess project constraints and constructability
- Familiarity with productivity analysis and workflow optimization techniques
- Experience monitoring project costs against estimates throughout project execution
- Proven ability to work effectively with clients, project managers, field teams, and external stakeholders
