About the Role:

PNJ is urgently looking for a Senior Category Specialist to join our team, focusing on licensed character collections including Disney, Hello Kitty, Doraemon, and more. This role sits at the intersection of product development, merchandising, and market analysis — ideal for someone who combines commercial thinking with a sharp aesthetic sense.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development (40%)

• Collect market data, customer insights, and competitor intelligence to propose new products.
• Work with the design team on product concepts: moodboards, feature specs, materials, and technical details.
• Monitor prototype development, inspect sample quality, and coordinate adjustments.
• Prepare spec sheets, suggested pricing structures, and data for product approval.
• Develop commercial policies for newly launched products.
• Track production timelines to ensure on-schedule launches.

Merchandising & Category Management (35%)

• Analyze sales performance by SKU, product group, and channel; provide timely recommendations.
• Monitor inventory turnover and stock aging; propose solutions to maintain capital targets.
• Support pricing strategy development within the department's framework.
• Review in-store and online display and assortment in line with guidelines.
• Deliver weekly / monthly / quarterly category performance reports.

Production & Supply Coordination (15%)

• Track factory production progress to ensure readiness for sales and marketing plans.
• Review BOM, raw materials, and processing costs; recommend optimization.
• Support QC for both new and existing products.
• Monitor production plans and flag delay risks.

Market Insight & Consumer Analysis (10%)

• Gather and synthesize market data by segment and region.
• Benchmark competitors on pricing, materials, design, messaging, and packaging.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Brand on insights and trend updates.
• Produce regular insight reports and propose relevant merchandise strategies.

Requirements:

4–5 years of experience in Merchandising / Product Development / Category Management (retail, manufacturing, or product brand)

Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge of materials, design, and production processes

Strong aesthetic sense, customer empathy, and trend awareness

Commercial mindset — ability to balance design, cost, and revenue

Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, ERP / PLM systems

Ability to read spec sheets; 2D/3D design knowledge is a plus

Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Passion for fashion and jewelry

Willingness to travel domestically

Flexibility for overtime when required
