Based in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, the Business Development Manager/Senior Business Development Manager (BDM/SBDM) will work as part of Enterprise Singapore's Ho Chi Minh City Overseas Centre.
The BDM/SBDM will provide market intelligence and business development support to Singapore-based companies expanding their businesses or seeking to establish a presence in Vietnam They will also promote trade and investment between Singapore and Vietnam.
The role and responsibilities include:
- Guide Singapore-based companies in expanding their business to Vietnam through sound understanding of the business landscape, local regulations and business norms. You will develop a pipeline of prospective deals involving Singapore-based companies and help close them.
- Monitor the business environment and conduct market research to identify and share key growth and investment opportunities. Key areas of interest are industrial infrastructure, manufacturing and lifestyle & consumer (including food services, food products and retail).
- Establish and maintain warm contacts with public and private sector partners that can support Singapore-based companies with their business plans in Vietnam.
- Perform activities necessary to deliver on the responsibilities above, including supporting business development trips and visits by delegations from Singapore, writing of meeting reports, and some data analysis of business leads to better shape future strategies
Requirements
- You should have a degree with at least two years of prior business development or market research experience in the private or public sector.
- Prior experience in a customer facing role and/or business development role is required.
- Understanding and knowing how to liaise with government officials will be a plus.
- In addition, you should possess strong interpersonal skills, be independent and results-driven, and have a keen interest in business.
- A strong command of written and spoken Vietnamese and English is necessary.
- You will be required to travel within Vietnam and to Singapore for work assignments.
