Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst who excels at turning massive domain complexity into absolute technical clarity. In this role, you will tackle verbose European regulatory documentation and extract the actionable meat to create concise, practical blueprints for our development team.
Working hand-in-hand with the Technical Architect and Proxy Product Owner (PPO) during Phase Negative One, you will lay the logical foundation for a major 4-year project. You will ensure that system architecture, subscriber APIs, and real-time market data flows are perfectly mapped, digested, and understood by the engineering cohort.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Elicitation & Domain Synthesis
- Analyze complex European regulatory and compliance documentation (e.g., ESMA, MiFID II) and client inputs to extract core business logic for fixed-income (bond) data processing.
- Critically review client requests, identify logical edge cases or gaps in the data lifecycle, and proactively propose alternative, highly efficient workflows to the technical team.
2. Technical Writing & API Documentation
- Turn heavy, thousand-page regulatory texts into clear, highly functional 5-page developer guides covering architectural overviews and data schemas.
- Analyze, model, and document requirements for intricate developer portals, including Execution Management Systems (EMS), Liquidity Checkers, and Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) APIs.
3. Agile Deliverables & Modeling
- Partner with the PPO to build out functional specifications, granular data-mapping matrices, and structural User Story Mapping.
- Author high-quality process flows and data mapping diagrams using precise modeling notations.
Job Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in data-heavy, complex software development environments.
- Proven experience documenting system integrations, backend workflows, and highly technical data flows (RESTful / WebSockets APIs).
- Exceptional text-sifting and critical-thinking skills; a demonstrated ability to distill dense legal or business structures into developer-friendly briefs.
- Mastery of documentation tools and modeling frameworks (UML, BPMN, user stories, and data mapping diagrams).
- Strong English communication skills (excellent reading/writing and fluent verbal) to confidently digest European legal text and collaborate with UK counterparts.
Preferred Strengths (Nice-to-Have)
- Solid familiarity with Capital Markets, Fixed Income (Bonds), or financial trading execution concepts.
- Direct background handling financial regulatory frameworks or consolidated market data feeds.
- Experience participating in early-stage product discovery phases, customer journey mapping, or strategic roadmap planning.
