The Senior Business Analyst acts as the primary liaison between Business, Domain and Technology teams to analyse business needs and translate them into effective solutions. This role is responsible for eliciting, analysing and documenting business requirements, maximising business value, and ensuring alignment between product features, customer needs and organisational objectives. The incumbent works closely with Product Owners, Agile delivery teams and stakeholders in a complex financial services environment.
Job Responsibilitie
- Serve as the primary interface between Business, Domain, Product Owners and Technology teams.
- Analyse current-state (As-Is) business processes and define future-state (To-Be) processes.
- Elicit, analyse and document business requirements for new initiatives and changes to existing systems and processes.
- Capture and groom requirements into Features, Epics, User Stories and Tasks, including identifying dependencies.
- Work closely with the Product Owner to prioritise and refine the team backlog, including estimation and decision-making.
- Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, story elaboration sessions and workshops.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Designers, Developers, Engineers and UX teams to clarify and socialise requirements through progressive elaboration.
- Ensure delivery teams clearly understand the value and intent of each user story being delivered.
- Perform various forms of analysis, including scenario, data, gap, change and impact analysis.
- Develop and maintain business artefacts such as:
- High-level and detailed business requirements
- Process maps and workflows
- Data models, business rules and target operating models
- Conduct Business Impact Assessments to support organisational change.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Business Verification Testing.
- Assist with implementation of backlog items and ensure alignment with defined business outcomes.
- Maintain a strong customer and stakeholder focus throughout all analysis activities.
- Proactively manage risks, ensuring adherence to policies, controls, compliance requirements, processes and procedures.
Job Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience as a Senior Digital Business Analyst.
- Strong understanding of financial products, processes and systems.
- Extensive experience in Customer Onboarding, AML and Financial Crime (FinCrime).
- Significant experience working in an Agile delivery environment, with familiarity with Human-Centred Design (HCD) practices.
- Proven ability to translate product vision into a structured backlog of features, epics and user stories.
- Extensive experience leading workshops with cross-functional Business and IT teams across discovery, delivery and operational phases.
- Ability to quickly understand technical architectures and how systems deliver business requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with evidence-based decision making.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous and complex environments.
