Job Overview
This role is for a senior, hands-on AI engineer who will design, build, and deploy AI features powering a consumer-facing mobile health application. You will own the full lifecycle of AI models, from experimentation and data pipelines to production deployment and continuous improvement. The work focuses heavily on LLMs, NLP, and real-world AI systems used by global users.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of AI features, from prototype to production and iteration.
- Fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy LLMs using prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and safety controls.
- Design and maintain data pipelines for training, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Build scalable, low-latency inference services and APIs integrated with mobile apps and backend systems.
- Establish evaluation metrics, monitoring, and performance benchmarks for models in production.
- Optimize models for performance and cost efficiency.
- Apply best practices in MLOps, experimentation, and code quality.
- Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver user-facing AI features.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- 4+ years of experience in AI / Machine Learning, including 2+ years working with NLP or LLM-based products in production.
- Strong programming skills in Python and at least one strongly typed language.
- Hands-on experience with modern ML/LLM frameworks and tools (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, vector databases).
- Proven experience fine-tuning, deploying, and monitoring ML or LLM models in production.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
- Experience building APIs or microservices that serve ML models at scale.
- Strong product mindset and ability to work in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- Stable career history with long-term commitment preferred.
- Good communication in English.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with mobile-focused AI, on-device ML, or model compression and quantization.
- Background in conversational AI, copilots, RAG systems, or recommendation engines.
- Experience with MLOps tooling such as MLflow, Weights & Biases, SageMaker, or Vertex AI.
- Experience in early-stage startups or product-driven companies.
- Strong academic or industry credentials (top-tier companies, publications, research exposure).
