At Kingfoodmart, we are at the forefront of this AI-driven mission in the online grocery market. We are a proven innovator, as recently featured inVnExpress.

Our OneChef smart virtual assistant, built on Google's Gemini AI, is already a live success. It delivers over 3,000 personalized recipes and shopping lists to a few hundreds of thousands active app users every month, and we are just getting started. We are now hiring the core team to scale this success and build the next generation of our AI engines, which power the Kingfoodmart website and ourOneLife app.

We are seeking a full-time Senior AI Engineer to take ownership and scale our next-generation AI-driven customer experiences. You will be responsible for the continued innovation of our successful OneChef virtual assistant.

In this role, you will be the key bridge between our advanced conversational AI and our deep personalization engine. Your mission is to ensure that every customer interaction is not just intelligent, but also personally relevant, price-aware, and optimized for customer engagement.

Core Responsibilities

1. Own & Scale Conversational AI: Take full end-to-end ownership of the OneChef virtual assistant. This includes model development, training, deployment, and continuous monitoring to improve conversational accuracy and user satisfaction
2. Innovate with Generative AI: Design, build, and deploy new generative AI features on our Google Cloud stack, moving beyond simple Q&A to create truly dynamic, helpful, and engaging customer interactions
3. Integrate Personalization & Pricing: Act as the primary technical collaborator with our Recommender System team. You will be responsible for designing and consuming APIs that pull real-time recommendations, customer engagement metrics, and price sensitivity data directly into the conversational logic of the OneChef chatbot
4. Optimize Cloud Infrastructure: Scale and optimize our existing AI models and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to ensure high availability, low latency, and performance for a rapidly growing user base
5. Collaborate with Product: Work closely with product, marketing, and data teams to translate complex business requirements (e.g., promote this week's price-optimized combos) into seamless technical solutions
6. Analyze & Iterate: Utilize our data (from sources like BigQuery) to analyze user behavior, identify new opportunities for engagement, and continuously improve the effectiveness of your models
7. Drive research initiatives:

Support research initiatives by exploring new algorithms, models, and techniques in LLMs and Recommender Systems

Contribute to innovative ideas and solutions to address business challenges using AI

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field

2 - 4+ years of hands-on experience building, training, and deploying AI/ML models in a production environment

Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically with AI/ML services (e.g., Vertex AI, Google Gemini models, Dialogflow)

Demonstrable expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and building conversational AI (chatbots, virtual assistants) from concept to production

Strong proficiency in Python and common ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face)

Solid experience with MLOps principles and tools (e.g., CI/CD, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes)

A strong conceptual understanding of recommender systems (collaborative/content-based filtering, matrix factorization) and personalization models

Direct experience with Google BigQuery

Professional experience in the e-commerce or retail industry
