Position Summary
The Sales Manager, Vietnam is a full-cycle enterprise sales role for a technically fluent, market-savvy professional who thrives on building business from the ground up. Based in Ho Chi Minh City with flexibility for remote customer engagement, you will own the complete sales lifecycle — from strategic territory planning and cold prospecting to technical solution design, negotiation, and deal closure — across electronics manufacturing (EMS), home appliance, automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, OEMs, ODMs, and system integrators.
This is not a maintenance role. You will be expected to open new accounts, win competitive evaluations, and establish Mech-Mind as the preferred 3D vision partner in one of Vietnam's most dynamic industrial zones. High performers will have the opportunity to shape regional strategy and build a local team as the territory scales.
What You'll Do
1. Own the Territory: Strategically plan and execute sales activities across Vietnam, with primary focus on Southern Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An) and periodic coverage of Northern industrial hubs, managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure to achieve aggressive regional growth targets.
2. Hunt & Land Key Accounts: Independently prospect, qualify, and close new business with electronics manufacturing leaders, home appliance brands, automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, metal processing leaders, OEMs, ODMs, and automation integrators — with minimal supervision.
3. Be the Technical Trusted Advisor: Engage directly with Engineering, Operations, and Plant Management to understand automation challenges, architect customer-specific 3D vision and AI robotics solutions — including robotic guidance, precision assembly, inline quality inspection (AOI), and logistics sorting — and articulate clear ROI.
4. Drive Quality & Inspection Solutions: Identify high-volume AOI and inline 3D inspection opportunities in electronics assembly and appliance manufacturing, where defect reduction, throughput optimization, and zero-defect delivery are critical KPIs.
5. Drive Account Expansion: Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts; identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, ensure retention, and nurture long-term strategic partnerships.
6. Align Internal Resources: Collaborate closely with internal engineering, applications, and support teams to scope, prototype, and deliver solutions that win technical evaluations.
7. Read the Market: Continuously monitor Southern Vietnam industrial trends, electronics supply chain shifts, home appliance manufacturing dynamics, automotive sector developments, and competitor movements to uncover whitespace opportunities and preempt risks.
8. Represent the Brand: Lead regional presence at trade shows, industry events, and customer-facing activities to build brand authority and generate qualified pipeline.
9. Be Based in Ho Chi Minh City: Operate from our regional hub in Ho Chi Minh City to ensure strong local presence, rapid customer response, and effective coordination with headquarters and regional partners.
10. Build for Scale: Provide structured feedback to global leadership on Vietnam market signals, pricing dynamics, and product-market fit to inform broader regional strategy.
What We're Looking For
1. Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field — you understand how automation systems work at a component level.
2. 5+ years of full-cycle sales experience in industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, or closely related industrial technologies, with a demonstrable track record of new business development (not just account maintenance). Prior experience in electronics assembly, home appliance manufacturing, or precision assembly is highly preferred.
3. Proven ability to prospect and close independently — you are comfortable with cold outreach, on-site technical presentations, and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder buying committees in multinational manufacturing environments.
4. Strong technical fluency in automation and machine vision solutions; you can hold your own in discussions with engineers and translate technical capabilities into business value.
5. Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and energized by ambiguity — you perform best when you're building something, not inheriting it.
6. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in Vietnamese and English; ability to operate seamlessly across Vietnamese industrial culture and global corporate standards. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a strong plus, given the high concentration of Chinese and Taiwanese manufacturers in Southern Vietnam.
7. Willingness to travel frequently throughout Vietnam (with primary focus on Southern industrial zones) and occasionally to headquarters or customer sites across the Asia-Pacific.
