Sales Manager (Modern Trade Focused)

  • Location: Ho Chi Minh City Office (Nguyen Van Huong, Thao Dien, District 2)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day

1. Job Objective

The Sales Manager Modern Trade is responsible for leading and expanding the Modern Trade (MT) channel. This role ensures sales target achievement, profitability, and sustainable market growth. The position requires strong customer relationship management, negotiation capability, and the ability to drive execution excellence across channels.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet MT revenue and profit targets.
  • Manage and expand the MT customer portfolio (supermarkets, convenience stores, retail chains).
  • Lead trading term negotiations, contract agreements, and promotional programs with Buyers.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends; propose data-driven action plans.
  • Ensure accounts receivable control and resolve customer-related issues promptly.
  • Build, train, and develop the MT sales team to enhance capability and performance.
  • Work closely with Marketing to implement campaigns, activations, in-store displays, and sampling programs.
  • Review channel performance, analyze KPIs, and present periodic reports to the Sales Director.
  • Support business development within Food Services and Horeca channels when required.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities and coordinate to introduce key SKUs.

3. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum 45 years of experience in Modern Trade management within FMCG; experience with Food Services/Horeca is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of MT distribution systems and established relationships with Buyers.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, training, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Highly proactive, results-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
