The Sales Manager will drive achievement of strategic business objectives through the development of new opportunities and expansion of existing accounts, with a primary focus on modular treatment systems and components in Canada. This role concentrates on the industrial water and wastewater treatment sectors, including work camp and light industrial applications in mining, power generation, oil & gas, pulp & paper, and remote locations.


The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, qualify and develop leads, and close sales by collaborating effectively with Applications Engineering, Project Management, and Operations. They will monitor market activity and trends, provide strategic insights, and adapt approaches to align Ovivo's differentiated offerings with evolving client needs. Expertise in penetration strategies for target accounts and proven success selling water and wastewater treatment equipment - including membrane systems - is essential.


This role is 100% remote with significant travel (60+%), so candidates must be located within an hour of a major Canadian airport (Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, etc)


What is the Role



  • Identify, pre-qualify, and pursue capital sales, equipment rental, and aftermarket opportunities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies that align with company goals, build client access, and position Ovivo's strengths against changing customer needs to drive successful closures

  • Collaborate with the marketing team on advertising, promotional, and strategic marketing activities

  • Represent Ovivo at customer sites, industry events, and trade shows to build awareness, trust, and momentum

  • Engage with consultants and EPCs active in target markets through meetings and presentations

  • Support specification development with clients and consultants, leveraging strong process and system design knowledge

  • Partner effectively with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and other internal teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience

  • Act as the primary point of contact for online, email, and phone inquiries, managing them with strong prioritization and time management

  • Utilize the company CRM (Sugar) proficiently to track opportunities, analyze trends, and support data-driven decision making

  • Contribute to the development of the annual sales budget and manage performance against it

  • Conduct all sales and business development activities with integrity, in alignment with Ovivo's core values and corporate policies


Does this sound like you


Education & Experience



  • Minimum 5 years experience in capital equipment and/or rental sales account management directly related to water and wastewater treatment

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Civil/Water Resources), Biology, or Chemistry; or a related Engineering Technology Diploma

  • Proven sales track record with strong aptitude for technical, relationship-driven business

  • Demonstrated success in business development and execution of sales growth plans

  • 5+ years in the industrial water and wastewater treatment industry in an engineering or technical support role


Skills



  • Ability and willingness to work in varied physical environments and take a hands-on approach in the field

  • Customer-centric mindset with the ability to translate client needs into profitable solutions

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to interface effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems

  • Self-starter who works independently and thrives in a flexible, results-oriented environment

  • Willingness to travel frequently and work irregular hours as needed

  • Product marketing and promotional execution skills
