As Sales Development Specialist, you are an ambassador of Waters and will bring to the market Waters products and services. You will act as a trusted technical and regulatory advisor, helping customers not only select the right analytical solutions but also confidently deploy them in regulated GMP environments. You will demonstrate a clear grasp of understanding the customers business and its growth plans, as well as be able to take the knowledge and convert that into a solution and offering from Waters, with a primary aim of bringing customer success. This position brings you a great degree of flexibility working in the field. Your role will be designated to either a territory and/or markets.

Responsibilities:

Sales Development & Market Support

  • Support sales activities through customer co‑visits, solution positioning, proposal development, and technical presentations, with a strong emphasis on pharma and cosmetics accounts.
  • Act as a regulatory and compliance subject matter expert to help position Waters solutions in regulated environments.
  • Work closely with Sales to drive pipeline development and accelerate deal closure by addressing compliance‑related customer concerns.

Pharmaceutical & Regulatory Expertise

  • Provide pre‑ and post‑sales consultancy on EU‑GMP, data integrity (ALCOA+), audit readiness, and regulatory expectations for analytical laboratories.
  • Support customers during GMP audits, inspections, and facility readiness activities, particularly related to LC‑MS/MS systems.
  • Advise customers on equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), validation strategies, system suitability, and lifecycle management in compliance with EU‑GMP standards.
  • Understand and interpret pharma and cosmetics regulations (e.g., EU‑GMP, PIC/S, ICH, data integrity guidelines) to align Waters solutions with customer compliance needs.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop pharma‑focused value propositions, technical content, and compliance messaging.
  • Support and conduct local seminars, workshops, webinars, and customer events focused on pharma regulations, best practices, and LC‑MS/MS solutions.
  • Train Sales teams on pharma compliance trends, regulatory drivers, and competitive differentiation.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Service, and Quality teams to collect market intelligence, forecast opportunities, and identify growth areas in the pharma and cosmetics sectors.
  • Participate in regional or global pharma initiatives, product launches, and compliance‑driven projects as designated by management.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's/PhD Degree in scientific areas such as Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related disciplines

Experience:

  • Hands‑on experience in a regulated pharmaceutical or cosmetics laboratory environment.
  • Strong background in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, preferably LC‑MS/MS.
  • Practical exposure to EU‑GMP, data integrity, validation, compliance, and audit processes.
  • Experience supporting or preparing for regulatory inspections or GMP audits is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with pharma workflows such as quality control (QC), method validation, stability testing, impurities, and excipients analysis.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and cosmetics regulations, especially EU‑GMP and data integrity
  • Proven ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical and commercial value
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Confident customer‑facing consultant mindset, including post‑sales advisory capability
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with QA/QC, Regulatory, and Laboratory Management stakeholders
  • Well-organized, self‑driven, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Positive, mature disposition with a strong sense of ownership and commitment
  • Adaptable to a dynamic, fast‑changing market environment
  • Strong technical background in analytical technologies, especially LC and MS

Travel:

  • This is a territory‑based role with frequent travel within the assigned territory.
  • Occasional travel to other countries may be required for regional meetings, training, governance activities, or specialized customer support.
