Technical System Ownership
- Creates and maintains a technical vision and roadmap for their areas of influence that serve as a framework for technical decision making
- Engages with delivery teams to help shape and critique their technical designs
- Guides the technical evolution while focusing on business outcomes
- Operates production systems , taking responsibility for availability, performance, security and incident management
- Monitoring and analytics
- Preparation of and maintenance of Technical Documentation
People Management and Team Leadership
- Provides leadership, direction, coaching, mentoring and support
- Ensures a safe working environment for all employees and ensures all operational, health and safety issues are proactively managed
- Assists in the recruitment and management of technical staff
Requirements
Matching belows technical requirements:
- Ruby on Rails ideally 6+ years experience. Needs an understanding of the framework and a strong command of Ruby programming, Rails conventions, and best practices.
- Plenty of experience with server-side rendered web apps, knowledge of client-side rendered apps is useful but not essential
- Git
- PostgreSQL (or another relational DB i.e. MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server)
- Web frontend experience (HTMl, CSS, JS, accessibility, responsive UIs)
- AWS mainly S3 and general understanding of cloud infrastructure, but experience with Lambda & Cloudfront would be nice to have
- CI/CD deployments
Great To Have
- Cloudflare Docker
- Datadog (or a similar service)
- Algolia (or a similar service)
Nice to have: Heroku, BuildKite (experience with CI is pretty much essential but it doesn't matter which specific tech), Emacs, Vim, Imgix, Sumologic, Airtable, Browserstack, Flywheel, Pingdom
- Proven effective in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, ideally using Agile processes
- Highly self-motivated and directed RECRUITMENT INFORMATION
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment requiring adaptability
- Displays integrity and ethical behaviour; interacts fairly, honestly and professionally in all business dealings
