About the Department
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.
Overview Of The Role
The RRIC Manager - is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end regulatory reporting processes under Retail Operations. This role ensures the completeness, accuracy, and timely submission of AML reports, statistical reports, and CIC‑related reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. The role also oversees issue resolution, control governance, audit management, and operational process improvements.
This position requires strong analytical capability, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead a team in a fast‑paced regulatory environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the preparation, review, and submission of daily and monthly regulatory reports under Retail Operations, including AML and statistical reports, to ensure full accuracy, compliance, and timely submission in accordance with regulatory requirements. Proactively escalate and resolve reporting issues, including data discrepancies and system-related problems.
- Manage, review, and supervise all activities related to CIC Reporting and associated customer inquiries under Retail Operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
- Oversee and coordinate investigations into processing or technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and escalation in line with the established escalation matrix.
- Ensure strong understanding and compliance with UOB policies, procedures, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements relevant to reporting and operational activities.
- Execute monthly and quarterly control activities and other assigned control tasks to maintain high-quality governance and operational integrity.
- Coordinate regulatory examinations and internal audit reviews, ensuring timely submission of deliverables and effective tracking and implementation of corrective action plans according to firm-wide standards.
- Perform feasibility assessments for significant process changes and collaborate with business and operations teams to design process improvements that enhance efficiency and streamline end to end workflows.
- Provide guidance and on the job training to new or junior team members, supporting capability development within the team.
- Identify and resolve operational issues with potential broader departmental impact, ensuring decisions and actions align with established procedures and governance frameworks.
- Maintain strong internal controls, compliance, and high-quality reporting, ensuring risks are effectively managed and key updates are communicated to senior stakeholders in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Financial industry.
- Strong communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in regulatory reporting, retail banking operations, compliance, or risk management.
- Prior experience in AML reporting, statistical reporting, or CIC reporting within the banking sector is highly preferred.
- Solid proficiency in data analysis, reporting logic interpretation, and issue troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of core banking systems and reporting platforms.
- Strong leadership ability with experience collaborating across teams and guiding junior staff.
- High level of accountability, ownership, and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to handle complex or sensitive issues independently.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and handle shifting priorities.
- Adaptability in a fast‑paced environment and a continuous improvement mindset, especially in digital innovation.
