We are seeking an exceptional Research & Development (R&D) Manager (Grade M2) to lead our engineering and technological development initiatives.
In this role, you will act as the technological cornerstone connecting Executive Strategy, Product Innovation, and Real-world Industrial Production. You will lead the journey of turning groundbreaking concepts into tangible Prototype Houses, Pilot Units, and Standard Model Units ready for international commercialization and patent protection.
Key Responsibilities- Lead R&D & Core Technology: Direct the research, design, and development of structural mechanisms, automated folding mechanisms, drive systems, and electrical/automation integrations for modular robot housing lines.
- Engineering Design & Standardization: Oversee and approve 2D/3D engineering dossiers, technical specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM); standardize R&D processes to ensure seamless compatibility with fabrication, assembly, and transportation workflows.
- Testing & Quality Optimization: Plan and supervise testing on mechanical structures, electrical controls, and sensors; perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on technical issues to continuously optimize product safety, durability, and user experience.
- Intellectual Property (IP) & Documentation: Manage engineering data systems and lead the preparation of dossiers for Patents, utility solutions, and industrial designs.
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build, mentor, and elevate a multi-disciplinary R&D team (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation); collaborate closely with Production, Site Execution, and Business Development teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
Qualifications & Skills- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Structural/Civil Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Experience: Minimum 5 – 8 years of hands-on experience in engineering design and product R&D. Strong background in steel structures, kinematic mechanisms, automated systems, or tech-manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of 3D/2D CAD/CAE software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent simulation tools).
- Leadership & Mindset: Proven leadership skills in project planning and team coordination; strong analytical thinking with a hands-on approach directly connected to workshop prototyping and site execution.
