R&D Packaging Manager - Chinese customers

Role Description The R&D Manager Packaging Development is a full-time, on-site role based in Thị Trấn Như Quỳnh. This role leads packaging research and development projects from concept to implementation, including material selection, structural design, and performance testing to meet customer, production, and regulatory requirements. The R&D Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams such as production, quality, procurement, and sales to develop innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions. Daily responsibilities include managing project pipelines, defining technical specifications, supervising laboratory trials, analyzing test data, and preparing technical documentation and reports. The role also involves supporting customer technical discussions, monitoring industry trends and new technologies, and continuously improving processes, methods, and standards for packaging development.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Research and Development (R&D) and applied Research for packaging materials, processes, and technologies.
• Proven Team Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding, mentoring, and developing technical staff.
• Solid Project Management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and on-time delivery of multiple projects.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in packaging development within manufacturing or FMCG/industrial environments; knowledge of printing, converting, or flexible/rigid packaging is an advantage.
• Familiarity with quality standards, testing methods, and regulatory or customer requirements related to packaging performance and safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate customer needs into practical technical solutions.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
• Proficiency in relevant design or simulation tools and standard office software;
• Chinese language is a must, Vietnamese and English a plus
