Job Summary:

  • The Hardware Engineer will help with the development systems for automation testing of Datalogic products. The engineer will collaborate with the test automation team to define the System Automation Architecture, will be responsible to integrate the selected hardware for test automation with the test automation software, design and build the interface boards to connect and control Datalogic product under test, including the firmware development if needed.
  • This position will be responsible of working with the automation test team to build the needed HW for testing Datalogic products and to support software development team and test team to debug and investigate HW issues of Datalogic products.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Understanding Test Needs: Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders to identify specific testing requirements, including parameters to be measured, accuracy levels, and test frequencies.
  • Defining System Architecture: Design the overall architecture of the test system, including hardware components (e.g., sensors, actuators, controllers) and software components (e.g., control software, data acquisition software, analysis software).
  • Selecting Components: Choose suitable electronic components, sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers based on performance requirements, cost, and availability.
  • Circuit Design: Design electronic circuits for signal conditioning, data acquisition, control, and power supply using tools like schematic capture and PCB layout software.
  • PCB Design: Create printed circuit board (PCB) layouts, considering factors like component placement, signal routing, power distribution, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Testing and Debugging: Test hardware components individually and as part of the overall system to identify and rectify any issues.
  • Programming: Write software code (e.g., in C++, Python, LabVIEW) to control hardware, acquire data, process data, and generate test reports.
  • Test Automation: Develop automated test sequences and scripts to streamline the testing process and reduce human intervention.

Technical Skills

  • Experience in reading electronic schematics and related component datasheet
  • Experience on usage of Raspberry Pi and Arduino board
  • Knowhow about programming languages such Python, C, C++
  • Knowhow about common usage of measurement tools: Multimeter, Oscilloscope, DataLogger, etc.
  • Knowledge Robotics is a plus.
  • Knowledge in automation tests, and developing test scripts is a plus.
  • Knowledge of RobotFramework and/or Pytest is a plus.

Requirements

  • Education (School/Specialization): Bachelor's degree electronic engineering or mechatronics
  • Other Language: Good written and spoken English communication skills
  • Years of Experience: 23 years of experience
  • Nice to Have: Knowledge of test automation
