Born in Vietnam, co-founded with disabled innovators, 4D - BONDE builds assistive devices shaped by lived experience and designed for real-world impact for people with disabilities - relentlessly pursuing our mission to grant equal access to life, from Vietnamese streets to India and beyond.
Our flagship product, Versatile Mechanical Joint System (B Khp a Nng), redefines upper-limb mobility for 100+ beta users, has been featured by 20+ premier VN media (VTV3/National Defense News, VnExpress,...), and lands elite UK Government AT30 backing.
We're surging nationally and globally, with edtech for visually/hearing-impaired kids on deck.
What You'll Do
1. Concept to Prototype Execution
- Translate mechanical sketches and conceptual ideas into detailed 3D models (Rhinoceros / SolidWorks / Fusion 360).
- Develop manufacturable solutions aligned with real-world production constraints.
- Convert early-stage ideas into functional working prototypes.
2. Material & Manufacturing Research
- Conduct in-depth research on materials and manufacturing processes, focusing on: Aluminum alloys, Rubber & silicone, Foam materials, 3D printing plastics
- Evaluate feasibility, durability, and scalability for commercialization.
3. Rapid Prototyping & Testing
- Execute 3D printing, manual assembly, and iterative testing.
- Process and test aluminum, rubber, and plastic components.
- Refine mechanical systems based on user feedback and functional performance.
4. User-Centered Engineering
- Coordinate with the Founder to collect anthropometric data.
- Work closely with users with upper-limb disabilities or visual impairments.
- Refine mechanical logic based on real human usage - not theoretical assumptions.
5. Strategic R&D Support
- Support the expansion of the current modular tool-set ecosystem.
- Contribute to the research and development of new product lines addressing diverse disability needs beyond the current scope.
- Provide technical feedback grounded in manufacturing reality.
Who We're Looking For
Skillset
- Strong visual thinking ability (hand-drawn exploded mechanical sketches).
- Proficiency in Rhinoceros, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.
- Experience in 3D printing, manual assembly, and material knowledge (Aluminum, Rubber, Plastics).
- Ability to translate complex mechanical concepts into practical solutions.
Mindset & Attitude
- Mechanical purist: prioritizes minimalism, pure mechanics, and pragmatic design.
- Avoids unnecessary electronic complexity.
- Deep empathy and product sensitivity toward people with disabilities.
- Proactive executor - gives constructive technical feedback instead of just following instructions.
- Comfortable working directly with the Founder in a high-accountability environment.
Why Join 4D - BONDE
- You aren't just designing products you are restoring dignity and independence.
- Direct engagement with the amputee and visually impaired community see your work change lives in real-time.
- Work side-by-side with the Founder/CPO in a flat R&D structure.
- Every sketch has the potential to become a breakthrough product.
