About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Quality Control Engineer with deep expertise in game testing to ensure the delivery of reliable, performant, and engaging gaming experiences. You will design and execute test plans across PC, mobile, and cross-platform environments, focusing on functionality, performance, compatibility, and user experience. This role involves both manual and automated testing for real-time, high-concurrency systems, ensuring games are stable, secure, and ready for large-scale release.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain test plans, cases, and scripts covering gameplay, UI/UX, networking, and performance.
  • Conduct functional testing (core mechanics, gameplay loops, progression, achievements).
  • Perform compatibility testing across devices (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS).
  • Validate multiplayer and networking features (matchmaking, latency, CCU load, synchronization).
  • Test cross-platform interoperability and ensure consistent user experiences.
  • Lead defect tracking, triage, and resolution workflows using Jira.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide feedback loops for design/gameplay improvements.
  • Collaborate with game designers, developers to embed quality throughout the release cycle.
  • Represent QC in sprint planning, release planning, and retrospectives.

Requirements:

Must-Have

  • Strong experience in quality control, preferably with software or platform testing.
  • Knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Solid understanding of manual testing for user interactions, workflows, and features (e.g., multiplayer or collaborative systems).
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills for both client-side and server-side issues.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with performance/load testing tools (Locust, JMeter, k6).
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting (Python, JavaScript, or C# for Unity).
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of professional QC experience.
  • Strong passion for gaming and knowledge of industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to coordinate across teams.
